Nike Zoom Fly/Vaporfly 4 and NEXT% - The Thread

My understanding is you need the stack height to get the cushioning from the ZoomX foam, you need the carbon plate to give you stability on such a high and squishy stack height and you need the fact that the ZoomX is super light to fit so much cushioning into a lightweight racing shoe. Take away any one of those things and the shoe loses it’s magic.

I totally agree with Poet, my Pegasus are not as lively but they are robust and do ok in the ice and the crappier conditions. For the price we got them at I’m happy as is. The Next and 4% get used for the faster and longer stuff. I used the NEXT on fire roads and river paths and they do ok, they are harder wearing then you think. I don’t need them but the BRS look nice."…

@Poet did you have the Pegasus Turbo 2 trainers?
As I thought the normal pegs don’t have ZoomX foam?

He’s tried them before…

Ah right thanks
I was going to trial the Turbo 2s.

Anyone tried the Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit?
The ones that reduce injuries.

Ah, I got the 36.
But like @stenard found, I’ve had the other ones.

Zoom Structure are my favourite “training” shoe.
The Vomero now has the same upper and heel entry as the Pegs.

I got confused as you had just sent back a pair of 36s

I ended up sending my Zoom Structure back as I felt they were a bit flat and not much life in them if you know what I mean.

I am trialling the Zoom Fly 3s at the moment but will be sending them back on Saturday.
They are good and I will probably get a pair when they sell them off cheaper.

I might try a pair of the Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit to see if I can still get that bounce in a training shoe.

There’s a few pairs of UK9 Next% in the odd coloured shoes in stock now

Should be with me tomorrow for my long run on the weekend

Weird how their stock changes daily!

Returns, I’m guessing?

Thanks for the heads up @Poet but my back is fooked so will wait for the ones with the squigly writing on or when the new model comes out in March.

The squiggly writing ones might not be with you for Oulton, plus, you can send these back after Oulton to find the AlphaFly

Think Oulton Mara is off for me now mate.

For the first time in three attempts, Nike finally manage to deliver next% day

The UK10.5 is too small
But that won’t stop me training in them for the next fortnight, until the BRS come out

(Yes, my kitchen is shit, but we’ve sold the house now so never needed to replace it)

Cool :sunglasses:

Is that your normal size in Nike?

I’m between a 10.5 and 11.5 - the Pegasus at 11 slipped off all of the time.

My OG 4% are 11, but they are “snug” so I bought another colourway in an 11.5 for “best”.

I had the OG Next% in Neon Green in an 11 and they just felt wrong on my foot, too big, kept slipping.
But these 10.5 are too small, but only just.

These are what I’ve had by Nike;

Nike Free 5.0 (2014) UK10.5
Nike Lunarglide 7 UK11
Nike Pegasus 36 ZoomX UK11
Nike Vaporfly 4% UK11
Nike Vaporfly 4% Crimson UK11.5
Nike Zoom Air2 UK10.5
Nike Zoom Fly SP UK11
Nike Zoom Structure 21 UK11
Nike ZoomX Pegasus Turbo2 UK11
Nike ZoomX Vaporfly Next% UK11
Nike ZoomX Vaporfly Next% Ekiden UK10.5
