I haven’t tried any of the flash ones so am going to jump straight in with the Alphas if I can snag a pair.
@Poet Zoom Next % available through the NRC app
Bagged my size 11s
@leahnp why do you think that about the Saucony?
I’ve worn Saucony for 9 years and they are perfect for me, are the Endorphin different? Was thinking I may treat myself after Xmas for my marathon.
Tempo Zoom?
The £170 ones?
Yeah, saw that…I’m holding out…
I had the NRC app before, but it always seemed pointless when I was a standard Nike member. So I got rid of it. Just reinstalled it (it remembered me) but no Tempo zoom showing at all, and the vaporfly and alphafly NEXT% are still showing as coming soon.
You also don’t appear to be able to search on the NRC app? Any tips? Do you actually have had to record runs on that app to actually get early release perks?
Have you checked your mail?
Inbox in the top right?
You don’t record on it, I just push my Strava to it and it records them that way.
Looking at it, I’d already done that with my Garmin Connect account. Despite having deleted the app a while ago, having reinstalled it, all my latest runs are in there.
But no inbox message about new shoes. As I say, I didnt realise that was necessary. I thought they all came through members releases on the main Nike app.
Been watching Loyd Purvis on Run4Adventure. He’s not a fan of the Alphas, reckon the corner like shit. (I feel the same about my Next%) but in a straight line, woosh!
Just had a notification saying a pair “was reserved for me”
Straight on and boom
I was a long time user of the Kinvara but moved to Nike when the Zoom fly came out and then the vaporfly appeared and onto the Next%.
For me there was no adaptation when switching.
I picked up a pair of the endorphin pros and the carbon rocker is different to that of the Nike and I suspect that the subtle change in the heel to toe motion has caused the flair up. I used the endorphin pro for the fortnight, I was conscious that I was not in a speed block so it was just regular build runs. I’m now back running upto 30 mins but got a cheap pair of zoom 3 as using the NEXT% for every run is chucking money away. So far no issues
God they’re fugly!
Felt good underfoot
Much like the Zoom Fly 3s
Very wide forefoot section so felt stable going round corners.
Legs tired today so hard to give perfect review, but no issues
2 runs done in the Baby Alphaflys now.
The tread on the bottom is far more aggressive and harder than the Zoom Flys.
I imagine this is because underneath is an Air Pod rather than foam, so if it goes through, you’re done for.
The Air Pod is the interesting bit for me as a forefoot striker, so not sure I went for the Alphas over the Nexts whether I\d be worse off due to less ZoomX foam.
Other than that they feel good to run in and will be my main training shoe
Looks like the launch on Saturday is everywhere, not just the Nike site
I’ve had an email from Sportshoes.com about all the Next% and Alphaflys dropping on Saturday
Meant to ask. How do they compare sizing wise to ZF FK / ZF SP / 4% / NEXT% ??
(assuming you have tried some/all of those)
For me, I am an 8 in all, but the zoom fly SP, which was renowned for being a bit small, and I am 8.5.
I AM EXCITED…(to not buy them…)
I’m an 11 in all of the carbon shoes
4%, ZF2, Next%, ZF3s
Only one I’ve had to downsize on was the Zoom Turbo which I went to a 10.5
The Baby Alphaflys as I call them do look “long” but they are nice and snug
My wife wears socks like that; just saying.
