Outlaw 2019

Seems bonkers I know. Been commuting into town for years, just gets longer each time we move to a bigger house!

Car is a massive no with the traffic and a train/tube combo will be grim in this heat. Just have to leave your ego and watts at home and roll in and out. I will be just shy of 500km for the week though :skull_and_crossbones:

I only managed once a week when working 28km away. That’s some hardcore dedication.

Do you have any goals for this, or are they secret?

1st rule of TT - nothing is secret!

Print this bad boy off - it was on @Rooster ‘s webinar last night.
His goals setting thing is good, too.

Yep no secrets!!

I think my best day would be:

1:05/5/5:00/3/3:30

I’d be ecstatic with that. But I’ll give myself a window of :

1:10/5/5:30/3/4

So just over an hour window of somewhere between sub 10 on my best, everything goes perfect day. And sub 11 which I would still be very happy with.

Yes I had signed up for that last night and will listen today when I get a free hour :+1:t2:

The transitions are tiny.
You’ve allowed time for a toilet break in each of those?

3:00 and 1:30 is realistic without rushing.

Nice splits…another person to follow on Sunday

EDIT:: I can now follow you in the flesh in person

Meanwhile in Hamburg :smirk::face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Yeah a :poop: If i need it

I am terrible at changing clothes quickly!!

I’m the guy who can’t get his wetsuit off. Drops helmet etc… Weymouth last year I ran with a gel in my shoe - forgot to take the bugger out. Felt awful until it popped and and made a massive mess inside my shoe

Although I think there will be helpers to rip wetsuits off and someone to dump your bike to at t2 so there may be hope for me

Race Number 1255

. Well then what’s your plan?!

Swim 62 to 65
T1 4 to 6
Bike 5:15 to 5:30 (I’d already done a BBS on it - saying 5:19 @ 0.71IF)
T2 2 to 4
Run 3:24 to 3:45

Sub 10 to 10:30.

I’ve done two 100 mile rides since April, all on the road bike.
A few 140k rides before that.
Not ran over 30km. And that was once.
Not swam over 40 minutes.

Not got a hotel, but have an air bed and large boot.

This should be fun

LIteral last minute entry or been playing us all like a fiddle?

Excellent!

Shame you didn’t get that lower race number.

This should be super fun now.

No family with me this weekend and I can’t remember if the room I booked is a twin or not but if you get desperate there should be some sort of room to pitch an air bed!

Also meeting up with a former tritalker and a good friend of mine who I believe you know

Literally last minute…I was going to do a self supported one over three days this weekend anyhow. Just have to do it all in one day now

Hmm…who’s that then?

Leigh. Got a stupid name on Strava. Bomber Harris

If it’s the Leigh I’m thinking of, that guy pops up all over the shop. Did a ParkRun at yeovil a couple of years ago, picked up my mate at Glastonbury and ‘his mate’ Leigh jumps in my car as well!

It may well be. Lived in Hants, where we went to school. Moved to the West Country. I’m fairly sure he’s settled just outside Swindon now but still pops up in Milton Keynes and the surrounding area :man_shrugging:t2:

Sounds like him. I’m sure he did the first Outlaw with me, we did a final swim at Mychett Quays then a long ride. IIRC at Outlaw, he went 11.xx maybe faster. (back when the race was hard-er :upside_down_face: )
