Parkrun

Ah cheers. I’ll see how she feels, but I reckon we go for 23 pacer and see how we get on.

Yeah give it a go. What’s the start like? Sometimes it’s hard to run with a pacer at parkrun because they all start together and don’t sort themselves out until 5/600 mtrs in.

You can burn some matches doing that. Winchester is pretty bad for it.

Yeah it’s got a pretty bad choke point at the start. But after 2-300m you can settle in a bit.

Tbh I’ve got enough experience to set us up well, even without a watch. Cos that pace is about flat out for me right now! :joy:

Might have to wear the old 4%s! :joy: :joy:

Parkrun

Got stuck at the start with it being busy and narrow. KM1 5.05m

Found some space and set about catching and passing. Rest of the run was 4.30 ish pace. Some deep sandy sections and chunky climbs to content with. Apparently top 100 hardest parkrun courses.

23.33 total

We dipped under at 22.58. Ran it blind, but with a rough idea of where the 22 pacer was. She buried herself at the end, fair play. Probably have some gains there by going out a tad harder. But Tbh, we’re not gonna go regularly, so it was a good bit of fun.

Think her grading was 73.34% so really decent, but not extraordinary. She’s a good multi sport athlete though. Really decent swimmer, boarder, runner. So you’re always going to give away something with that approach.

Still. She earned her double pastry from me and the boys!

That’s near my mums house.

Quite like the course (and a good playground for the kids).

Amazing effort from your LO there mate, she (and you) should be very proud. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Good to see the CSW crew in action.

I did Burnham with Craig today. He went off like a rocket for 20:xx. I took it much easier, especially in the first km but wanted to come home stronger, so did a progressive run which ended in a 26:16. I’m happy with that (for now)

All I’m seeing in that top photo is the three you struggling to keep up

Back to the parkrun this morning after being away, stayed local as the GF wanted to go out for the day.

It was still quite dry after I opted for trail shoes. Started off with a loose plan of 4:30k’s but got carried away by halfway and dropped towards 4:20

I thought someone was going to catch me in the last one so put a bit more effort in :joy:

Got back in 22 flat which was slightly faster than planned, it was hard work but not flat out.

Proud dad moment this morning.

Eldest smashed his junior parkrun PB, 8:56 down from 10:01! Over a minute off in one go, admittedly his PB was just over a year old.

He ran round with the front two the whole way and they pushed each other to the line. Came home 3rd. He didn’t have his usual sprint finish left in the tank at the end, which showed he’d paced it properly and left it all out there.

Age grading’s up to 67% too from 65%.
