The Hague has a Z now
I’ve done Q - from Queen Elizabeth Parkrun down in Hampshire, just south of Petersfield - that’s a fun course, quite hilly though.
Eden Project was another fun one (and also blags you and the family free entry)
maybe you could tick it off before your trial for crimes against other TTers at Bologna on a Thursday night last year
I still feel weak thinking about it
Rapid course.
100% tarmac.
Gentle 2.5km uphill out (put the effort down)
Gentle 2.5km downhill back (relax at the same pace as you went out in)
Great views of the river valley, too
You can then nip up Under Skiddaw to Blencathra afterwards.
I’ve got;
DSM WNK
Need a B and an A
I can share all the W’s round here. I’ve now done Warrington 115 times. I’ve lived here too long!
ETA: I think I’ve done almost all the W whinlatter, wythenshawe, worsley woods, wilmslow.
Zillmere in Australia is the obvious choice
BCGHMWY
Blandford
Cardiff
Great Field
Henstridge
Montacute
Weymouth
Yeovil
rubbish Scrabble hand , need some vowels
Err…
Exmouth
Killerton
You should pop across for Wepre, your old mucker Nicole is often there running/marshalling.
My closest U & I are
University of Stirling
Isabel trail in Staffs
Long way for 20 minutes of running
The daft thing is that one of our local runs could have called itself Zetland and it would have been very popular, instead they picked Redcar
Yeah she posts about it quite often. I missed our club trip to Wepre and the stories I hear about it aren’t very nice (tough course etc etc) so not sure I’m dashing over. But then I did Sutton manor which is pretty hideous.
Come to Winchester!
Is that the Parkrunner app Andy?
Some interesting challenges on there
Like the palindrome one! (21;12 for me)
It’s the 5K app. Much the same. Pointless challenges. Working my way through the Prime numbers challenge (very slowly of late!) and the do a parkrun on all the 366 days of the year challenge (don’t put anything in my 2025 diary for any Saturday morning, and don’t expect breakfast in bed on Valentines Day 2048!)
The alphabet challenge looks particularly hard in the middle east
- there are 28 letters in the alphabet
- they are all consonants
- er there are no park runs , well actually that’s not true it looks like there is one per month in Dubai.
So , “D”.
I’ve got a few and another app called running achievements. Similar things, it’s a bit of fun and encourages me to do them and sometimes drag the GF out for something nearby.
I’ve only done about 115 but something like 30+ different events and currently done 3 countries and hoping for Italy in a few weeks.
There’s people in our club with well over 600 and went to the first one in Middlesbrough in 2007, and covered several hundred different events. One is retired and basically drives his motor home to another event every week.
Got a feeling he might do this new one on Saturday though.
