Must be pretty much there on the alphabet now Jeff?
Still got 4 to go, some are a bit of a chew, U, I
Iām in Glasgow in a few weeks so aiming to get Q and considering a trip to Keswick on 29th December.
Need to get a different hobby ![]()
Edit, 4 to go, forgot about Oldham
I mean how could you forget Oldham?
I havenāt got many but funnily enough have both K and Q!
I am totally soft, nothing to prove here, wear appropriate clothes, of course I also just jogged around easy, mustāve been pretty easy as I didnāt overheat, or even fog up my glasses despite all those layers.
I missed being the 20 pacer by about 5s too as the guy who literally ran up in front of me got āstrong armedā into it - then I wouldāve had another layer!
Nice !
Cancellations already getting announced, canāt see many on around here without ice skates.
Hoping Hartlepool might have a chance, the path by the sea is usually ok
Edit: cancellations coming in fast now, including Hartlepool ![]()
Where are you checking, 5k Parkrun app?
Partly but a few are calling early on their FB pages. Thereās a few waiting until tomorrow.
The app is definitely showing the ones already off.
Iām going to continue my SW London tourism.
Choice of Wimbledon, Old Deer Park, Cranes Park or Hanworth are the next local events on the list. Will decide in the morning
I watched this whilst having my coffee this morning. Does anyone recognise the course? It looks miserable and narrow, looks like a horse racing course?
Worcester - see the sign that they run past at 1:15
Agree it looks narrow
Crane Park for me today. Nice, small event. Itās is a lap and 3/4 around a small park on the edge of shitty housing estate.
Cruised round chatting to mate who I normally run with at Bushy, but random that we both turned up here today.
Bitterly cold though!
Hardly any on in the NE and one that was probably got overrun.
So I headed to Knaresborough and Conyngham hall, nice little course with about 3K on grass track. Bitterly cold but calm so quite nice.
Think I did 22:2x but it was a bit long.
Got me out of bed.
Cold air was hard work and my hamstring felt a bit tight ![]()
Crane Park is a good little course - plenty of variety, a bit of up down left and right. Iāve not done it since the early days of the event but enjoyed it. I think it was the nearest to where we lived at the time - but we were mostly drawn to Bushy.
Worcester Pithcroft is narrow in places, but less than 2 full laps so never too congested. It should be really fast, with hard surface for all but the finish shoot and a bark chipping section across the race course, but I ran quicker at a 3 lap Stratford that was even more narrow and congested.
The original Worcester is a narrow and muddy and hilly run around a forest. Lovely run, but not a PB course.
Yea would agree with that. The guy I ran with today said itās just under 2km from his house but makes the trip to Bushy too. Good excuse to get some added kms I guess
Once Iāve ticked off the low hanging fruit tourism wise itāll be hard for to keep going further than bushy with it being so close to home
Just stumbled across this. Yeah itās Worcester pitchcroft, narrow path used by lots of walkers/dog walkers/kids on tricycles. Depending on the weather (or whatās going on with racecourse) there are a couple of variations, one of which has about 3 dead turns on that narrow path, so particularly annoying.
Heavy rain here over night and pissing it down at 9am made for a āfunā run today.
This weeks tourism trip was to Hanworth Park, Iād imagine in the summer itās quite a nice course, totally flat and pretty much all off road. Absolute bog today though, Iām covered in filth - still, enjoyed it!
Back to my home parkrun for me, mostly as itās a lap course so any problems with the leg I was never far from the car.
Increased the pace as I went and sneaked under 24.
Hamstring was generally ok until 500M to go when it started nagging, hopefully not set it back much and probably wonāt run until next weekend now.
Trying to reach 40 for the year! On 37 I think with 4 possibles to go.
