Parkrun

Yeah, we could really do with some more rain, everywhere is looking parched

No 20 pacer, so that was me… Very wet course, big headwind on the long false flat uphill straight, basically a river to run through on the entire downhill.

I reckoned my first 2km were
3:58, 3:57
The guy who I was running with, reckoned I was 17seconds up at that point…
Still easy up the hill, and 3.5km hit on pace I thought, but then another conversation and I’m sort of convinced I’m well up, despite my thought… Go easy up the hill, 'cos I’m lazy and I want to hit 20.

Get to the top of the hill, oh shit, not gonna hit 20.

Finished in 20:09, and some poor guy finished about 3seconds behind, hope he wasn’t close to a PB…

Our local run was cancelled at 7:45am due to flooding (a couple of parts can get dangerous with big puddles) so easy decision for me. Stay in bed.

Did Winchester as part of a longer run, fully loaded with Arc mandatory kit. I was surprised it was on because Winchester is nearly all off road, a combo of playing fields and tree roots. It was an absolute quagmire.

29.19 for me. It was my 86th

Happy birthday your looking well !

The one local to me is muddy in the summer as there is huge field drain that empties into two parts of it, today I dread to think

Well done FP!

Another tourism visit for me. Another close one at Old Deer Park, just down the round from Twickenham stadium. Pretty friendly small parkrun with no more than 100 or so today.

3 laps all on grass which was very boggy in places. After lap one I completely overheated, stupidly wearing a thick long sleeve top despite temps in double digits. Anyway, plodded on, slowly moving backwards through the field with my non existent stamina, scraping just inside the top ten and killing my right calve with about 300 metres to go.

Nice morning for it though. Another local run ticked off and a ‘o’ for the alphabet

The local one for me again. Was in work and popped out while waiting for something.

Quite breezy but mild.

Was steady for the first 4K then decided to be a knob in the last K and felt the leg twinge with about 500m to go :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Waiting for my time but about 22:00

Hopefully I’ve not set it back much, and might learn my lesson

I think I was around 22 today as well.

I really need to get running more and get that time down. Calve is pretty lairy now though

I actually think this more my adductor now, certainly isn’t the same area as the problem from June.

Probably others overcompensating, but it’s only the second run this week. Probably the intensity.

Yeah I’m not helping myself either. First run this week and an opening km of around 4 minutes - no warmup either

He needs the proper challenge of Phoenix parkrun. Top 10 lady for me today :joy::joy::joy: there were only 49 runners altogether. Tiny parkrun and challenging laps but I like it.

He’s ran 16:40 ish on a track
I think that’s his park run pb…

Too busy staring at her bum to get the sprint in, she’s very very quick over short distances etc
