Several people actually didn’t believe that I didn’t buy it, most were young.
It keeps people fit and is a target, there not out taking drugs or causing bother I guess

Same, ultra-fit mag used to run a similar type of thing, iirc ttowel was good at them.
ETA: endurance isn’t my best asset fitness wise. Boxing seemed to suit me perfectly. Not pure power like sprinting but repeated high intensity.

a great sport for developing mobility and efficiency…plus of course ‘old’ boxers used to do endurance training too…
Yeah, I built up to doing 4x ~ 8km a week. Done on feel if I was tired just easy, if felt good then run harder amd 2x sprint repeates. This was run aboout a mile to some football ptiches then sprint a short side and walk the long or vice versa depending on how I felt. Never especially enjoyed back then, just something I did to improve my fitness to box.
That was pre season training when i played, although jog the long side. Soul destroying, I much prefered it when we just went out into the hills and ran repeats up them, even though they wete tougher for me. Just more interesting, but others were quite happy not doing hills, lazy gits.
I did two of those comps years ago
Finished with 800 m @ 10% on a treadmill then 40x 40 bench … or was it the other way around?!

Watch the testing or the…sport. Is it a race or a melee? I’d like to watch the testing, I can’t see why I’d like to watch people lifting things.
Although there’s popularity in Gladiators or Ninja Asshole or whatever so maybe put it on tv.

Ambien isn’t, so probably mostly not.
It is honestly so spectator friendly.
Paticulary if you are supporting friends and family, I followed John S round the course and was shouting for him most laps.
If I was supporting him on a sprint tri ( similar time scale ) I would have seen him 2-3 times if the run wasn’t laps, that said I’d much rather watch Lionel, Gustav and big blue battling it out on tv SBR, than watch the elite 15 hyrox as I don’t know many of them and it’s jus not “ exciting “.
