Puppets of the state and quite sad that they’d essentially sacrifice people so young for it, seems to be a source of national pride for communist countries going back to the days of the GDR.

Obvs I’m not stupid enough to think it doesn’t go on elsewhere but I suspect it is less state sponsored and driven like this, I think in other countries there’d be too many whistleblowers.

3 of the 23 were children, U16 years old. Mental. The doc is good actually ep3/4 get right into it, the probability of contamination of a kitchen. Well worth ~40mins total of your time.

Seriously though, how does Trimetazidine get into a hotel kitchen enough to contaminate 23 people’s bodies, enough that it showed up on a subsequent test?

“sink drains, spice containers and cooktop vents in the kitchen of the Huayang Holiday Hotel in Shijiazhuang”

To paraphrase the doc, If a single pill had accidentally dropped into a soup whilst cooking then it would show up on the pans, drains and vents (the steam) until cleaned. They tested this. But a pill when touched wouldn’t contaminate anything as the drugs are inside the shell, so it wouldnt be in the spice jar unless the pill was opened and poured in. They questioned in another interview with the doc maker on “Inside with Brett Hawke” yesterday, that how many chefs would allow such contamination of a kitchen, its their pride at stake, they are generally kept spotless! They also said that if the former happened, with just one pill they would have had a much larger concentration in the athletes so soon after contamination, the amount they had in testing was tail end of a 2 - 3 week dose so akin to “periodising” or “loading” for that competition. Also when similar contamination has happened before (it was MDMA then) they tested support staff etc to help the athletes defense (USADA will do this) and they all had it, including a 70 odd year old couple so knew it was true. This extra testing wasnt done by CHINADA.

yer this was another case, a few years back. This might have been the Spanish field hockey case he mentioned. An athlete (maybe 2) had tested positive for MDMA, complained the night before they felt “odd”, as had numerous other staff and people at the hotel, I believe they tested hair samples of support staff after the fact to help prove they were innocent as it stays in hair for much longer than urine and blood. IIRC they’d missed qualification for the Olympics because of the AAF so whilst they were exonerated eventually, they still suffered massive consequences

I mean really, how much do ‘we’ trust the Chinese and Russian establishments on anything?

I know the west isn’t perfect; but I’d like to avoid whattaboutism for now.

Came here to post that myself!

The very sad news the Ryan Garcia has tested positive for Ostarine.
Last weekend he defeated the reigning 140 lb champ Devin Haney, but he didn’t !
Ryan missed weight by half a division (3.5lbs) and lost every round that he didn’t knock Haney down in ?!?
It was a crazy crazy fight !
Ryan paid the 1.5 million weight penalty but then bet 2 million on himself at 6-1, obviously someone else put that bet on
This is a catalogue of so many wrongs it’s just funny / not funny.

The attitude of some fights fans “ steds only help you win the Tour de France “ is quite sad but not unexpected to be honest.

In a week we’re a pro fighter lost his life this is very sad indeed

Don’t follow boxing (I assume this is boxing?) but am I reading this right, if you miss the weight you can just pay a fine and fight heavy? How is that safe for the opponent - I assume weight categories exist to try and produce fairer and safer competition?

As for the PEDs, I only know what you post here, but it sounds like a lost cause.

Your right
Devin Haney could have said “ your over the fights off”

You have 6 hours to lose 2 kgs ( not impossible but this would seriously hamper performance in fight night Garcia looked huge and rehydrated 20-22 lbs he loses the Vance for the belt but makes millions and has a better chance of winning
He basically cheated twice )

BUT no one gets paid they earned 30? And 50 ? Million US each apparently
Haney a huge favourite … took the fight … and keeps his belt ( which should go vacant )
It’s corrupt to the core
