It must be the trainers, and tailwind

It’s a massive chunk off.

I was shocked it was run “mixed” I didnt realise the Majors still did that but seems Berlin was also.

You know what it does show, with all the new shoes, advances in science over the last couple of decades, shes still only 5minutes ahead of Paula.

The new women’s marathon world record is equivalent to a woman running…

100m- 10.38
200m- 21.06
400m- 46.77
800m- 1:50.49
Mile- 4:00.97
5k- 13:32
10k- 28:23
400m hurdles- 49.87

It’s just pure insanity.

*according to IAAF tables…

She did have a pacer by the look of things unless he was also pacing the men. I thought that Paula had hers changed because of a pacer?

I’m not sure there’s that many people that could pace a 2:10!

Are there effectively two world records now, one for mixed races and one for women only?

yep, MX and WO

the WO is still a minute slower than PR’s old “mixed” record 2:16 and change, think PR is still 3rd in all time WO, about 2:17

So with eyebrows raised by this record, what does that do for Radcliffe’s WR?

She’s British, beyond reproach, just good clean sports here.

Looks like Tennis has joined the list of sports who will accept ridiculous excuses…

Sinner (appropriate name and also meets Slowtwitches ‘double letter in name means you’rea cheat’ theory) tests positive after his masseuse used a banned cream on his cut finger and then massaged Sinner…

3 months…no money or titles lost…

Who would believe that carp?

Yeah, conveniently between grand slams.

Tennis has been like this for years. Look at Richard Gasquet being given a free pass for his cocaine positive. He didn’t take it, he kissed a woman who had. Sounds likely

This bit reminded me of Tim Don’s ban

Dim Ton was crazy, i could understand the mistake back then with a newish system, and maybe not the sharpest tool in the box when it came to computers, or so he said, and pretty much before smart phones were everywhere and iPads were a thing as well, but it was also very conveniently around the time of his World Title iirc

The system already allowed for such individuals by allowing for 2 missed tests but not three. I’d have thought he’d have chosen to learn after his second missed test, but no. He got a 3 month ban from UKAD ending on Dec 26th, which for a pro triathlete is like sending him to bed between midnight and 3am
