The tdf wins were stripped by USADA UCI and WADA in 2012. The federal fraud case was settled in 2018 for $6.5m although I think there was a cross over of evidence.
I see a Panorama documentary where Tim Montgomery said from college up not one sprinter was clean.
Totally agree.
One WR time was “broken” at the Enhancement Games.
Haven’t really seen much published about it, not sure how its revenue model is supposed to work?
Was just searching through to see if anyone else had posted this in another thread, then you posted.
Interesting that only 1 record was broken and he was in a PU suit.
they say these drugs help make you better. Then offer to sell you the drugs.
purely on that why would you believe anything. They already admit to be cheating so why would any of it be legit? Could fudge the timing, all the benefits could be down to illegal equipment. Probably harder in a pool as can’t imagine there are many less than 50 m pools but could be quite easy to mis mark a 400 m track to lose a few metres
Aren’t most of the pools in the US 50yds?
That would help

Very easy/common to have a swimming pool with a large one way current.
Accidentally happens sometimes even in regulated championships, wouldn’t be surprised if they set one up here.
Plus the PU suit, and he still only beat it by hundredths
I saw a clip of the 100m swim. It was only a 4 lane pool, like the ones they build in arenas specifically for events. The winner was in an outside lane, which is supposed to be a disadvantage, and I doubt it was full depth, a bit like the Paris pool.
In summary, it’s all meaningless. But some journeymen and recently retired (banned) sportsmen are getting a nice payday.
Eggs zackery.
The 100m sprint was won in 9.97, the only person to break 10 I think. Not a particularly fast race!
Wasn’t the winner a “clean” athlete too

How many sprinters with a 100% clean no-smoke-no-fire record, have gone 9.97? ![]()
I watched the video online, the clock was stopped before he touched!
the athletics they were running high school times according to Steve Magness and many slower than when they were “clean”, read into the anyway you want ![]()
no SCY and LCM, so college pools are 50m long 25yds wide and a few have 2 booms that leave a small 2 lane gap in-between the two 25yd pools
Fair enough!
My mate’s daughter just graduated from LSU after going there on a swimming scholarship and most of the results he’s been reposting for her have been measured in yards.
She broke the “school record” for 500yds freestyle several times while she was there.
Whenever I see someone on an ebike going up hill it always looks obvious; they’re usually doing about 40 rpm.
I saw a lot of (mainly older) people riding e-road bikes the last time I was in the Yorkshire Dales.
I guess it makes sense when there’s lots of roads that are 20% and you still want to ride with people who are younger and fitter than yourself.
the problem with a normal e-road bike is that the powered range is relatively small and they’re really heavy to ride if you’re not using the motor.
This gives the benefit of the motor assistance but doesn’t add too much to the weight of the bike
The thing that amussed me is JoeX’s ‘power meter battery issues’ thread is shown below it.
