POLL: Do you live in the Dark Ages and have "Spare Change"?

Love this.
We are similar - The star board has a grid that miraculously always takes about a month to fill and also strangely they get there at roughly the same time!

1 completed row gets you a small prize (cash, pack of football cards, hair bits etc), fill the board and you get something bigger.

Sorry if this is a bit ‘dark ages’ for some

Also when I get my hair cut with my boy I give him the money to pay for his, then he gets the change, then goes back and gives them a tip. It makes him feel grown up but also teaches him the value of £££ and understands paying for good service.

My dad used to hate it when people paid him in cash when he was working as a builder. He was always very honest, it was a pain using large sums of cash and balancing the books and he’d be the one in trouble if he got audited by HMRC.

He once did some work for a convent and before he started the Irish mother superior took him into her office and told him “So Mr Whisk Snr, we’ll be paying you in cash and you won’t be charging us VAT.”

It was difficult for him to refuse an instruction like that
