Pro bike sponsors

Agreed, totally pointless, non value adding and irrelevant. Who even wants to run adds on ST any more?

Would also segue nicely with GCN clips!

9 Pinarello’s in Kona 2019, fair to say there’s an opportunity to grow the brand…

Yep, and put LCB and Cam Wurf on them, and it could get really interesting… especially if Pinarello suddenly pop a decent tri bike out of the bag!

thinking a bit out of the box too… how about if Ineos put together a properly managed pro team, a la top flight cycling team with full nutrionists, coaches etc…that would be an interesting move.

I wonder if the Zwift ā€˜team’ has made a few people stop and think a bit about the PR opportunities, and the cross promotion potential with a world tour cycling squad. With Ineos already pushing its running agenda with sponsorship of breaking 2, its not beyond the realms of possibilty.

Ah. I’m almost disappointed. The idea of an Ineos tri team quite appealed to me!

Agreed, how dull

any germanists? @jorgan ?

edit - there’s an interview in English with LCB

Are Cube actually any good? I remember years ago they were great value bit always had a bit of a ā€˜cookie cutter’ rep for me.

They’re now the fastest bike she’s ever ridden. Until the next one!

I think that the Cube was designed by Swiss Side, who then went on to design the new Orbea and Canyon. Question is whether Canyon and Orbea are more aero?

JP Ballard at Swiss Side is becoming the Adrian Newey (Formula One designer) of cycling aerodynamics

One benefit of the relationship with Cube is that LCB can get access to Swiss Side’s wind tunnel to optimise her position. I think that it is an order of magnitude more sophisticated than Specialized wind tunnel

That’s it… she’s cursed :smiling_imp:

Both of those bikes look amazing, IMO.
The Cube does look very much like the new Orbea, but if I was a buying a new bike, I still wouldn’t buy a Cube based on LCB (or any pro) riding one.

What Tri bike do you buy?
The one that fits!

(Also - rim brakes)

These bikes all look great but don’t forget you gotta take it apart and put it back together when you go abroad to race. Invariably something breaks and then it’s availability of spares.

I am sure the top pros get decent support…

These are the 3 bikes coming from the Swiss Side Design Studio. To me the Cube, which is the oldest, looks a little fussy. All 3 bikes look quite different
