Tbh I doubt I’m the only one that isn’t overly keen for #CVNDSH to surpass the GOATs tally of stage wins; I suspect a lot of Continental Pro riders feel that way.

I’m not sure I agree with you there. All of the other riders seemed to be genuinely pleased for Cav when he won his Tour stages in 2021 and his Giro stage this year.
Most of the current peloton probably grew up watching Cav racing in his early career and I reckon they’d rather have the record Tour stage winner racing in their era than everyone banging on about a bloke who retired when their parents were kids

Cav is a one-trick Pony. Very talented at it absolutely no doubt, but he’s not the rider the likes of Merckx, Kelly & Hinault were; not in a million years.
He’s 24th in the All-Time rankings list on PCS. That’s exceptionally good, and the ‘greatest’ British cyclist ever.
The very best Pro cyclists probably fall into 2 categories; caught and not caught. Same with all the Olympic 100m champions the last 40 years.
