Yeah it was a weird one, good conditions and the race wasn’t really on. Looked like the corner tightened up a bit and the peloton just misjudged it

I initially thought Remco got away with it as he seemed to miss the concrete tank-trap & boulders as he cyclo-crossed his way into the forest at 50km/h

Apparently there’s tree roots under he road that cause undulations in the tarmac. Local riders know it well and the organisers put a warning sign up, allegedly.

The faster you ride it, the “smoother” it feels - you want to be skipping over the tops of the cobbles.
Riding slowly is not pleasant and starting off on the cobbles is really hard
