Pro Cycling Live - will contain spoilers

I only followed the later stages on the text updates, but I think he had 3 bike changes and spent some time on a Shimano neutral service bike

The was a story on one of the sites blaming MVdP’s woes on broken new Shimano pedals🤷‍♂️

I was watching when MVdP had his mechanical. I think he had a front wheel flat, a team mate gave him his own bike but MVdP couldn’t clip in. i assumed it was a different cleat combo or something?

Then he gave the bike back, and someone else had swapped the front wheel in his own bike, then he got going again but was the thick end of 2mins down.

That’s how I recall it :man_shrugging:t2:

Ah OK, it seems that Phillipsen was using prototype pedals that weren’t compatible with MVdP’s cleats when they swapped bikes

I tuned it with about 150k to go, just before all the mayhem kicked off.

Absolutely nuts race - made for superb viewing!

Oddly LBL Femmes started in Bastogne :man_shrugging: Presumably just the return route.

Looks good for the future though right, Pog will only get slower & Paul will get faster. Should make for some entertaining races.

Until UAE make him an offer that he can’t refuse to go and ride for them

Yeah that would be bad but I can’t see him going and being no.2 to Pog, better to have the full team working just for you.

Hour long Giro highlights show on Freeview DMAX (Channel 39) from 19:00 this evening… apparently.

No spoilers, because I haven’t seen or heard anything today, but isn’t is a nailed on sprint for Milan to take Pink today? Not sure it needs a hour for that!

…or today’s first stage is already up on Tiz.

Can it be streamed for turbo fodder at a later time?

Unless you have the Discovery App I don’t think so :face_with_diagonal_mouth:…would love to be proven wrong.

There’ll be 20mins of adverts.

It’s moved to HBO Max now I think.

We are now in Plovdiv, Bulgaria on a campervan site connected to a hotel which happens to be housing 3 of the Giro squads and support crew. FDJ and Alpecin are 2.

And 3rd stage happens to start in the city tomorrow.

Pure coincidence we happen to be here - no idea the Giro was in town as I don’t really follow that race
