Probably take offence at the fat bloke on the one corner pulling his middle finger at Van der Poel.

We did a club trip to Ghent 6 day in 2010(?) and tagged on a trip to the cyclocross at Koksjide. Stybar was racing in the rainbow jersey and most of the locals were rooting for Sven Nys.

Nils Albert ended up winning quite comfortably, but despite being Belgian, he was booed most of the way round his last couple of laps by the Flandrian crowd because he was a WalloonšŸ™„

So was Pidcock showboating…I think so.

Summary

I still can’t quite work out what went wrong. He did a bit of a jump on the whoop before but nothing outrageous, landed it fine (which is often where it can go :pear: shaped if you land pointing the wrong direction), but lost it on the upslope of the next whoop

Summary

I think a mixture of accumulated speed & some didgy ruts meant quite a few riders in both races piled into the fence at that point. In the warm-up Pidders was whipping for giggles when he went over it.

I just think he tried a half-assed tail whip fir the crowd & lost it.

I hope the biggest injury is to his pride, he certainly looked uncomfortable riding to the finish :frowning:

I think CX is a great sport to watch but hate the commentary on Eurosport when Pidcock is racing, it is so biased. Ooh look at the line he’s taking, he’s so clever. Distance gained = zero. It’s always a mistake by MvdP or WvA but unlucky wee Tom. Not sure which race it was but it was night one and everytime he lost ground it was bcause he was unlucky with a rut or something and he dabbed a foot down but when the others lost ground it was their mistake. It’s slippy, wet mud!!! Does my nut in, just commentate on what’s happening!

I watched pretty much every major race last year. This year i just don’t seem to have the time. I’ve not caught any racing or even highlights at all for some reason.

Classics start imminenly don’t they?

I can normally catch the last 30/40mins of races in the evening while my wife is on the phone to her mum. I’ll need to try & devise a new strategy .

Couldn’t see this posted anywhere. Absolute madness courtesy of Tom Pidcock.

impressive stuff but what if someone had decided to drive up?

They had cleared the road and had a car in front as well checking, so I read.
