I like this. How some people just grate.
But other people will be like “oh, that person is so Amazing

Anyways, I’m rooting for Knibb.
Hope she annihilates the field in her wake.

We need an over/under on number of portaloo stops for Knibb. She can’t even manage a 70.3 without diving into one

This is Kona. Not Leeds Festival :joy:

They were pretty ripe by Friday late afternoon, glad I wasn’t there Sunday

I’m with GB, I want Kat Matthews to win. Hopefully a decent race too.

Would love to see Kat win.

Fully agree with this.

Likewise I’m really looking forward to the race. Much that Nice was a great timezone for watching, I do love to sit back on an early Saturday evening, crack open a beer and watch people the other side of the world do things that I used to do (and may well do again one day).

Yeah, ironically with Nice I caught much less as I was going about my normal day. Could keep an eye on it all day with tracking etc, but like you say, I do like to have it on the laptop for the first few hrs when the family are still up and then slob out and take over the lounge when they go to bed.

Ironman series announced. Looks like they’re using a similar system to the old Kona qualification system to count towards a new pro series.

It talks about helping the pro field all the way down to P1000. Not really sure how that works, as they’re only paying out to the top 50.

I’ve just started watching the Sam Laidlow documentary. Enjoying it so far.

Didn’t realise his manager was Ronnie S (not going to try to spell his surname!) who also managed Sebi, another thing I didn’t know.

Didn’t realise there was one. What platform is it on?

YouTube

It’s about an hour long and charts his whole year from coming 2nd in Kona to the big Nice win.

Don’t follow the scene/watch Kona etc but he seems like a good lad…is there any story between him & Frodeno? Why did he want to beat him in particular?

As an aside do his folks organise Bearman? When I did Altriman it was a toss up between the two, but although Bearman looked great it seemed a wee bit too DIY & would’ve stretched my wife’s swanny skills.

I don’t recall any particular beef or jostling with Frodo. I think it’s just because he’s been alpha for so long, and in particular at Canyon (maybe?).

Enjoyed the doco though.

Frodo was his idol, he admired his style of racing (take control at the front) and wanted to emulate it. I think Frodo contacted him prior to Kona to give him a bit of a pep talk. So was a dream to race against him in Nice (I guess - shame he wasn’t on top form).

#faboy alert - Did I mention I stood on the podium with him at Lakeman 2019??  Close race

Laidlow doesn’t stop talking about it, they had to cut about 45 mins of him gushing about you on the doco

But they want you to endure ANOTHER 2 hours of guff and advertisements on top of the 9 hours of constant adverts! :joy:
