Tim O Donnell on the podium today in Des Moines. That’s amazing after what he’s been through
I was moaning about this too. They clearly had more fixed position cameras but whoever was in charge kept shifting to the next camera so that they were on screen all the time. Also, why stick with the helicopter shot when they are just filming the tops of trees?
The narow sections are roads within the park itself and mostly used as footpaths, although it looks like they moved some bollards so they could use the longest route around (& within) the park, so the narrow section was mostly the downhill back to transition. The crash happened on a normal road where they had the full width by the look of it.
Hard to see what’s going on really.
Bit of half wheeling going on?
Not half - its already happened; the blue bike in the air is the clue if you pause it when the video starts.
Lands on the marshall
It’s the kiwi guy’s bike that goes through the air, JB and Yee on the deck closer to the camera
So kiwi guy has already crashed (how, who knows) and he takes out JB who takes out Yee (I think!)
You’re a very good runner Joe, but this is another ball game again. Do not underestimate the pedigree of Ricky Lightfoot!
Yeah, he’s a class runner, particularly off road and on the fells.
Just listened to their podcast - They were fine, the horse took the stick really!
They weren’t flogging a dead horse then
This pun chain is slow to take off
Pair of bellends always trying to stirrup controversy.
Shame
Yeah i saw that.
Lion is going up against the Norwegians in Canada this or next week as well (70.3). Also saw that Paula Findlay won the Canadian TT nationals!
That was great racing there. I love this format!
I’ve just watched the highlights but agree the format was interesting! Suprising that Potter doesn’t beat them on the run when they all get into T2 together. Assume it’s because she’s working harder in the swim and bike legs.
Nice to see them mix up the format. Don’t know if it favours the runners, just comparing Potter and Caldwell, Caldwell suffered more in the later rounds, didn’t even stay front pack in the swim for the final. Is that because she is having to work harder on the run so gets less recovery than someone who is cruising the run?
Not necessarily a criticism of the format, just an observation.
I think they had to.
Olympic style racing was just dull, and turned into a foot race at the end.
I remember in the early days they were innovative, like that mountain course AB smashed his competitors on.
I like how their thinking though. Wonder if they would have changed if Super League hadn’t come along?
Anyone watching the WTC relay? Great racing
