Ali’s run form does not look great. He looks really jerky. Obviously not Sanders bad, but his old fluid self is not what he’s currently looking like. Gustav looks so smooth

I think this is the first time we’ve ever actually seen Gustav and Kristian head to head on tv. This could get crazy towards the end. I still recall seeing them come past me in Bahrain the first time they were there…it was like a 1500m track race, with 5k still to go

I do think there must have been something about the conditions today. Literally noone is crossing the line like they’re feeling strong. Given its shorter than a 70.3, they’re all in pieces. And so many people look to be hobbling.
Apparently it was 2hrs later than the women yesterday, so did get a lot hotter and more humid

Guessing it’s Vicky Holland in the commentary box, if so (or whoever) how did they get through this without beating the crap out of that ignorant tosser who kept talking over her throughout, Belinda Gainger maybe?
Holland was certainly on the ladies race, it was so annoying when the other lady kept cutting over her, I think I’d have told her to FRO!
Belinda and Vicky spent the whole race (on both days) talking over one another. We just need one of them at a time in the broadcast booth. It really got frustrating to hear each of them butting in all the time and finishing sentences. I do like the commentary from Barrie Shepley - reminds me of ITU racing a few years ago.

I just caught up with the racing as I recorded it and thought the coverage was alright TBH. Much better then IM. I think Vicky Holland is good on the TV. Barry calling Vittoria Lo-pes, Lopes was funny though.
The races themselves were good I thought. Chuffed to see Aaron Royle fit and racing well, he’s good bloke and has had terrrible luck with injuries. Same with Ash Gentle and Paula Findlay.
Apparently AB is going to race Swansea 70.3 but I can’t find a pro start list.
Not sure how up to date this is, but seen it mentioned a couple of places this week (including by IM, that he’s racing)

That pond (I’m not calling it a lake) is horrible, it has cattle standing and sh1tting/p1ssing in it most of the year and they move them out of the way for a couple of days to hold a triathlon.
I’ve never done the Birmingham Triathlon for that reason, I was round that way with work once and saw the state of it on a normal day.
