First time I’ve punctured - at first I thought someone was jizzing on me, then I thought “no one has that much stored up”. I’d say it was more like Bishop being ripped in half by the Alien Queen.
It just kept spraying out so I stopped and put my finger on it. Tyre seems to still have some pressure.
I’ve managed to shoe-horn the Challenge TLR tyres onto my Reynolds wheels, and stretching them with Butyl tubes (LBS recommendation). But the owner says he still uses latex tubes for road, as Tubless is just a PITA and messy, plus maintenance. Tbh, these Challenge tyres are so tight, getting a tube into them (to repair flat) without pinching on the roadside would be a ballache. I had to buy a mounting tool to get them on the first time.
I’ve done that (well, a gel wrapper) in a standard clincher tyre with tubes. Got me home about 75km.
But you can’t do that as an emergency roadside fix with tubeless can you? How would you re-seat the tyre if you took it off to put the note in? I thought you needed one of those special tubeless seating pumps to blast enough air in to get it in it place?
