Hahaha,
I love it when out riding when you get to spot and hit the front and make them pay.
My problem is my riding circle is small and we all know where we like to attack, although this does provide an opportunity for counter attacks

WTF does this have to do with ST? There is a willy waving thread …
This is going back to comments Spooner said back in April.
Some guy stating he was riding at 800 watts for an hour on IM Journey
(But I do love it when I’ve got a bit of fitness and can make others suffer)
Try not to leave time to counter attack!
There was this “debate” the other week about “heavier” riders being at a disadvantage with rim brakes…
Anyway, there’s me and this guy (also ~90kg) who rode Pro-Am out in Dubai on rim brakes flying down every descent.
Someone pipes up “where’d you get your stones from?”
Oh, yeah, rim brakes innit. Faster downhills. Just proved it.
#ScienceFacts
Added to that is a guy who’s dropped a fair bit of weight recently and had been doing 3 hour sessions at 250W on TrainerRoad…bragging about it…I’m like, there is no way on gods Green earth his turbo is calibrated correctly. As in - he’s not doing 250W for 3hrs - so I prove it to myself by taking him on every hill (he’s about 68kg now, so should’ve EASILY had me at 250W!!!)
@Jorgan - I used an American Football reference. And I’m Willy waving. If they’re not Slowtwitch, then I don’t know what is??? Maybe I should ask where to keep my gun on a ride?
This is the height of hypocrisy. Ryan Rheisler is calling out the OP for not attaching his name to the Wordpress and getting heavy handed about ‘full disclosure’.
This is the same dickwad that assumed it was ‘common knowledge’ that his wife wrote a study he and ST were promoting, even though she doesn’t share his last name.
The Kip Litton of IM dies. I remember the stories years ago about him and raced with some guys that were cheated by him in the US.
And the slowtwitch article
Melanoma. Blonde hair, fair skin. Age 67. Take care out there.
I remember reading about the more recent controversies but did not know about the rear view mirror!
Great runner- 2nd fastest marathon in 1988 Kona after Mark Allen apparently
Can’t agree there mate. He got to the run in the shape he did by preserving energy from cheating his way on the bike.
He had a low 2.20s standalone marathon PB, is what I mean.
The 8 year (?) ban must have been hard for someone so involved in the sport. Not arguing against that though.
And the lesson is: if you want to be talked about after your death, spend your life cheating other people
He sounds like he was a force to be reckoned with in his youth, but his personality sounds horrible. I liked reading Monty’s and Eric’s comments.
Someone on the ST thread posted a comment Joe Boness made on his FB page.
“Kevin beat us to the Pearly Gates. Do you think St Peter will let him in before he spends a few milleniums in the penalty box?"
Yep, brilliant comment!
I used to think the personality issues were synonymous with being elite or a winner, but the likes of Geraint Thomas, or Alex Yee has proven you don’t have to be an arsehole to win, just driven
Absolutely, when I was trying to make it as a jump jockey I came across a real mix of arseholes and nice people. The bullies drove me out of the sport as that much conflict (I found taken a backward step or ignoring digs difficult in my youth) on a daily basis gets to you after a couple of years of it. But there were jockeys who were really nice guys too.
Also, people can be ‘horrible’ in and around the competition arena but nice away from it.
Someone on slowtwitch posted a link to this
Video currently has 14000 likes, they say if they get 69200 likes they will do an Ironman in Kona
Ha - Martin’s reaction when they say they will do an Ironman
“Hold this, bitch.”
Free gels for anyone who says this going into T2.
My old headmaster at school died in South America. He was a bossy busy body annoying type - he had a go at me once after morning assembly for nearly running me over when I was out running one afternoon. I expect he gave himself a coronary shouting at Brazilian kids to stop playing football in the streets
