Is reply 4 a record

Not sure if that isn’t just a random troll?

I think you’re right, he’s only made 7 posts or something like that, but made me chuckle.
ETA - I just did a quick search on his posts and the first couple I found seemed normal.

haha! Even post 3 is classic ST - “What TF does Chris Froome know, i like disc so they must be better”

that’s some fucked up reply

Too hard to find the links but the two I remember well were:

Gary Hall Snr giving some swimming advice and someone asking who the hell was and his advice was shit.

A guy asking for advice (IIRC on KQing) and gave some goal times for the disciplines. He got mocked a bit with comments like ‘you’d be an Olympian with those times’, which turns out he was

I suspect it’s a competition now as to who can lose it the quickest on ST.

Yes, Froome that won the TDF with a psycho descent versus some fat bloke on a hybrid :joy:

I may be wrong but think Duncan74 is dss123 from TriTalk1 - if so good bloke and good triathlete, I used to swim with him in Leicester tri club about 20 years ago.

Definitely didn’t deserve post #4  although maybe it’s an attempt at humour, never can quite tell on ST

dss123 was born in 1972 (easy to find out peoples dates of birth and occupations from results :scream:)

There was a Duncan1974 on TT1.0, wasn’t there?
Avatar was a gorilla/monkey with a leather flying hat and Biggles-type goggles.

Yes, there was a Duncan74 here; he was a prolific poster on TT 1.0 until a spat with Hywel iirc. This all happened just before we joined I think; I remember looking through his final posts. Somebody got called a tw*t at some point, but I’m not sure it was actually meant seriously, and it just snowballed.

Ah maybe getting my Duncans confused

dss123 is the one I swam with - sorry

I thought he used to be on here, but maybe TT1

He’s still on Twitter

Yeah I remember Duncan74 from TT1.0. Think he moved to NZ quite a few years ago?

Yes, dss and D74 two different people. I ‘met’ dss123 when he passed me on the Cotswold Classic run many moons ago, he gave me some nice encouragement. I also saw Tivmeister there on the bike/run.

Yeah, Duncan74 was the first poster on TT1.0 to hit 10,000 posts.

I only vaguely remember the spat that caused him to leave, but he went from being the most prolific poster on the forum to nothing overnight. Hywel was still working as a teacher at the time and I think some of his kids found him on line and started posting stuff to try to wind him up. Duncan waded in too and Hywel blew up and Duncan was never seen again.

All happened in late 2006, I think.

Happy days

Ttowel posted an “ask me anything” thread while he was tapering in Kona. I assumed he was bored so asked him: “You’re standing on the surface of the Earth. You walk one mile south, one mile west, and one mile north. You end up exactly where you started. Where are you?”

His reply was basically “don’t care, go away” (well, that’s the radio edit) which was fair enough, but maybe he should have specified if he just wanted questions about long distance triathlon

Also - that TT1 thread from the guy asking what to do about having offensive smelling sweat from his buttock cleft while running on a treadmill. Does anyone remember it? It was properly hilarious & IIRC Ttowel was one of the main contributors. Wish I could read that again.

I remember a guy called Boxster, wasn’t he a GB cyclist?

That was Joxster.

I think he rode the kilo at the Barcelona Olympics before racing as a pro in Europe on the road. He was one of MarkieR’s favourite sparring partners.

I kept in touch with him, when i got into track he was really helpful, was mtb’ing a lot in sunny jockland but he’s vanished off of social media in the past couple of years.

even raced keirin in Japan. what an experience that must have been.
