No. Lots of these. (that helmet doesn’t look very aero!)
I knew you’d correct me for saying that!
You ‘took’ care of it
That looks grim!
Bolton init
I’d say 4 FO steep climbs - Freshwater (1x), and Narberth, Wisemans and Saundersfoot (2x)
Wisemans twice as well.
That’s actually Leigh, just after Pennington Flash.
All uphill to the loop
I hate hills.
Wales is worse than Bolton on both the bike and run
Yeah I was thinking Wisemans and Saundersfoot but I’d forgotten what a grind Narberth was. There was a real grind on the main road as well. (I think it was a couple of miles before Narberth) the wide road made it seem horribly long.
I especially liked this part, which we do three times to get onto Le Mans Crescent / Bolton Town Hall
You ever thought about a career in sales?
It’s really not one for a recce.
Total traffic lights.
If you can ride a loop under 2hrs elapsed time on a recce, you’re doing well!
Some of those look like properly busy roads. It must cause carnage for the locals if they’re all closed for the race.
That’s the run isn’t it? Feed station usually there, where the vans are - I always liked that bit lol. Run course changed in 2018. Preferred 2017 route. Crowd in 2017 was excellently raucous - I think there was an England game on or something football related. It felt like a carnival. Loved it.
Looked
Like part of the 2020 bike route when I downloaded the GPX last year!
Really? Oh dear
Aw - that’s the one I want to do. Had a week in Dec 19 just relaxing. G friend wouldn’t allow me to hire a bike and go for a wander.
Bolton is a bit bleak. Wales may be a little tougher but the time seems to pass quicker.
