BUT!!! At least some taught himself to swim 1:50/100m 
That’s impressive to do by October last year, during lockdown.
Someone else will be swimming ~90mins.
Which is what I did my first two IM swims in 
So it’s good

It’s not hard to improve swim to 2min /100 pace and you don’t need mega hours, just actually listen to decent advice and don’t get in the pool, plod up and down for 30minutes and think job done
