Is there something bad about Tailwind? I use it in ultras but not as my only source of calories, have never used in a tri? I’m out of stock at the moment though.

Maybe you should start dropping words in like ‘love’ or ‘pal’ maybe even a ‘son’ if you think it appropriate

No! Not at all.
It’s quite good - palatable.

It’s just a pseudo-religion on IMJ.
Don’t train.
Drink Tailwind.
Harness the energy of the crowd.

That’ll get you round, pal.

No nothing wrong with Tailwind at all. But on IMJ suggestions of any other products are almost banned.

Tailwind is a real game changer for me.

But that’s just me.

I’ve been given several part used bags for nowt as people found they couldn’t use it.

Done a good 70.3 on nothing else.

For full distance… Jesus be rough just on that stuff, I use it as a base and go from there calories wise.

Used veggie friendly shot blocks yesterday on the ice ride, they were probably the best part of the whole fiasco.

Oh I see, I hadn’t realised! I’d never heard of it until about 2017 when a marathon runner at work told me about it but I didn’t try it until 2019.

I like it but I never mix it strong enough to be my only source and I find carrying loads of powder problematic. I’ve tried multiple small bags and they seem to rub against each other and open.

FWIW I saw a YouTube vid once with Tim Don testing flapping number belt vs glued on in the Spesh wind tunnel. The flapping number didn’t test any slower.

Edit: found it.

Which ones mate?

I bought some lemon tailwind a few years back when IMJ started about it but didn’t like it. To be fair SIS Go is about the only sports drink I’ve ever really enjoyed, the rest were always a means to an end so not a disaster, just nothing special for me…except Gatorade, awful stuff they used to churn out at London and Blenheim. Massive stomach cramps caused by that.

Free from the local shop, OOD. !

Caffeine
Tropical flavour

Use pectin instead of gelatine as a gelling agent.

I’ll post you a pic when I get in garage

That’s interesting, wonder why they didn’t share their evidence? Probably would’ve quietened this myth down ages ago.

I liked the way he honoured the bike before mounting

Whole other post taking the piss really. I would reply but I know I’ll just end up calling someone something I’ll regret

“I rarely hit 8hrs training per week, I’m going to be fine and everyone else should relax too”

Whoop! Yeah! Say it brother! Preach!

I want to drive up just to take the piss on the run course.

I average less than 9 hours per week :man_facepalming:t4:
Shall I tell them that?

Big difference though - rarely hitting eight says an annual average of 5-6h to me.

I think fear is a good thing, and accepting, condoning undertraining is a bad thing.
