I’m giving running one last season to get somewhere then I’m switching to aquabike!
Can someone send me a list of aquabike tattoos?
And start an ABJ UK Facebook group so I have somewhere to yell at people who no doubt still don’t like swimming.

I’m in “my own little world” now

Edit: And now I have my first FB stalker! Who knew the debate over the necessity of a 28 cog over a 32 could get so heated
I’m on IMJ UK but can’t find any of these conversations…

I’d deffo take a 32 if I was them.
I’ll “survive” with a 28.
Got a 50/34 compact going on right now.
Rule 5
Its a 55 or bust
I was debating it. (55/42 is 175mm)
But no.
50/12 (172.5mm) is a bit “spinny” on some sections, so I might try my 52-36 (170mm) too.
But got to do three laps on each to make sure.
As it’s the last lap I’ll be asking for an extra gear.
I’ve done Wales course always on 52/36-11/28, even in the wet (back wheel spins a bit though!)
See.
This is the problem with choice and being able to change stuff myself

I’m not limited to what’s on the bike.
I can have whatever I want!
I’ve also got some 53/39 chainrings.
Pretty much all options covered.
This is the UK one, 7hrs ago. Chap has asked a legitimate question - in fact I am sure I asked exactly the same question five years ago on TT1.0 hence my interest in answering - he’s struggling keeping the power down to 200W going uphill, wants to know if a 32 will help instead of his 28.
Of course, no one reads the question - 200W is 200W whatever gear you are pushing - he gets the same general answer I got, except for the people here who pointed out that of course…you still have to push 200W! ![]()
It’s just a barrage of “buy a 32” responses. ![]()
Some chap is so incensed that I have said something other than “buy a 32” he’s tracked down my shitty bike splits, because obviously the faster you are, the more you know…right? Joe Skipper is with me on this right? ![]()
And now after I give a legitimate piece of advice Bobby has jumped in.
They ganged up now. I’m just a wannabe pro

Don’t worry, @Poet will sort em out.
I think I did do a mile or two down a motorway in Beijing by mistake a few years ago. Luckily it was pretty early in the morning as I was on the way to a local bike club meet, so got off pretty quick at the next exit.
Yeah I ended up on one in France, it was like a dual carriageway which at some point had morphed into an autoroute.
2 Gendarmes escorted me back. Bit embarrassing and sorely tested my GCSE French skills.
When I first moved to Erding, I ended-up on a ‘schnellstrasse’ which is a restricted single carriageway; a couple of cars beeped me, and I didn’t know why. I thought it was a lovely fast road for cycling
Anyway, I asked one of the Germans at work, and they explained.
Full-time German lessons for nearly a year…and they didn’t teach us that!
Some Guy, Matt Hogg, who came 7th in AG30-34 (Thanks @Poet ) in 2019, asked a question to IMJ about improving FTP… Not sure he got many sensible answers
Ha ha ha - hes a beast!
I’ve just done 2 loops in the wind and rain at 27kmh for 234W NP.
I dropped a bottle on Sheephouse, so drove a loop to pick it up…average speed only went up to 30.4kmh.
30kmh + on there is bloody ace.
Some guy called Carl Botten gave him the science - pah, what does that dude even know
there were about 3 good answers, 1 copied what I wrote
Ive now hidden IMJUK for 1 month and will likely delete the group as it’s taken a real turn for the worse. A bunch of new joiners with fake profiles just out for an argument, right around the time Mr P started “trolling” them. Dan Reef may hang around though ( Pot / Kettle
)
It’s horrible.
