Does anyone know how The Running Channel presenter did at Boston?

I’m not aware any of them have ran Boston yet?

Ah. My mistake. With it been Boston yesterday, I thought that’s what she was aiming for. Guess it must be next year then.

She was trying to BQ at Berlin this year. Failed by some margin, cried a lot and got gifted a spot by Adidas. winning!

I’ve never heard of this running channel - just looked up - the irony of her presenting a video piece called, ‘how not to fuck up your marathon’ - there’s far better stuff out there. I used to like watching an American coach’s videos … forgotten his name though… laid back guy - Greg Macmillan. I never did anything he suggested lol! Lots of articles on stuff too

Lots of ideas for workouts

There’s a channel on the tubes Westlake Distance Running iirc, the stuff when they are in Kenya is brilliant, well worth a watch.

I don’t watch it for advice, I watch it because I’m incapable of looking away from the train wreck. That’s why it’s in the IMJ thread.

So she’d have been running yesterday then, unless you BQ a year in advance?

Ha! Fair enough :grinning:

Reccon I’ve confused Boston Qualify with Berlin Qualify…

I’ll get me coat…

I might have confused you because I said London when I meant Berlin.

I watch FOD Runner and The Welsh Runner a bit. Sometimes Ben Parkes.

I watch run4Adventure for trails, also Ryan Clayton and Jeff Pelletier.

I’ll go and have a look :face_with_monocle:

Guy in IMJ on a rant about being pulled off the course, when he believed that he was well within cutofff. However, when you analyse the data that he provided, it is very clear that he was going to miss the bike cutoff. I wrote a nice polite response, pointing this out. What I should have written was, “if you are a beginner swimmer, and cant ride a bike for 90km at 23kph, then dont enter a 70.3”

I started to read that the other day but couldn’t get past the “I’m a beginner swimmer” - same old IMJ.

This is the “ I’ve had a bad experience in an Ironman one”?

I thought someone had ran him off the road or something.

He’s new , and it’s easy to learn to swim, sure he will be fine in the future.

Yeah I saw that, any rant that immediately leaves out the verifying details is always full of shit. “I did a 70.3” anyone else would day which race it was. “I don’t know why they pulled me off the course” Yes, you do they told you when they did it. And so on.

Wasn’t there also one about a woman who refused to leave the course and ‘finished’ the race anyway, and how amazing she was for doing that?
