:joy: yeah sorry

I’ll let you know when volumes 2-7 are out

It’s complicated though, isn’t it, Zwift? I found it quite tricky to get started anyway

I do agree. My first few attempts to use it weren’t a success cause of equipment.

I don’t know how anyone can race on a phone…I’d struggle on a tablet even with my glasses on.

Smart trainer for me was the turning point. Made it engaging , brought the routes to life.

Not Christmas tho is it. What you going to open now??

Glad it’s working out for you @fruit_thief I might of recommended Apple TV a few times . I’ve use a wahoo kicker with ATV too & had no connectivity issues at all without any extra kit.

ATV has been great for me. Had some initial set up FUBARS and think one time that I just could not connect at all (not wifi related).

Makes everything less cluttered. I also signed up for the 12mth free ATV+ sub but didn’t carry it on, no value there IMO.

Direct drive is the game changer really

So, Apple TV.

Might buy one when I’m next in town.

Can I plug in a USB stick for ANT+?

Would you need to do this though?

Dunno?
I’ve always found BTE connections horrifically unstable with the fans on :man_shrugging:t4:

I run Zwift on a Macbook Pro and have zero problems with BTE :man_shrugging:

In ZwiftPower you can upload both activities and it’ll do a comparison so you can check if the two sources agree at different power levels.

You might find at 1000W one source is higher, that could make all the difference in the finishing sprint.

Only place I’ll be finding 1000W is in the kettle

(but thanks for the tip )

No no no apple TV is a real downgrade to a pc. Just build a zwift pc, cheap box 1660 card, cpu matters little as they only utilise a single core anyway, can get one built well under 200 if you search and build…but I suppose you’ve got to like doing ebay and know what you are doing to a degree. ZPCMG on Facebook though is a great resource.

Exactly what I did refurbished shitty dell business desktop and a 1650 card - spent a more than required on the card for compatibility with Moonlight / Nvidia streaming and it was still less than 200 - the performance in Zwift is no worse than the much more expensive 2080 RTX machine.

My Apple TV4K was £140, I only wanted for Zwift. Plugged in, logged in and it just works. I suppose if you use the box for other duties I can see why you may want to build something but I can’t see the point otherwise?

It is much faster frame rate, can run at 4k graphics. For the experience, if thats your thing, or racing then cheap Zwift build PC makes much more sense but I understand the ease of Apple TV.

And @Hammerer - I’ve built a few desktops in my time. Last build was an SSD Linux laptop, so I’m fine with that, just I’ve not done it for ages, so would need to look at builds etc. I’m no longer on Facebook.

I’d only be buying the HD version from 2020, not the newer 4K one, as my TV downstairs is only 720p.

John Lewis have a load in at £129/£139,
Plus three months free subscription (which we pay £5pcm for currently)

Then buy a voucher through work for 97%, then go through HarvestMyDataForCashback.com for another 3% cash back, whilst using my 1% cash back debit card.

Means I get an ATV for about £105, yeah?

I may have been doing it wrong, but ran Zwift on 2 different laptops and there were always these massive pauses waiting for the game to load, or loading different world - sometimes up to several minutes. So I had to boot up 10 minutes before I wanted to race just in case. Do you not get this on your zwift PC? They were old laptops admittedly. The Apple TV is honestly just instant though & can control it all with point and click. I like
