School me on Zwift

I made a little pull out shelf for my laptop :see_no_evil:
Ordered some runners from Amazon and then made a little drawer for it to slide in and out of.

Just call me Jesus :innocent::hammer:🪚

Ditto nowt on desk. The two things on the shelf above the telly are the ATV and a WiFi extender. The cables upset me a little

When you installed the kitchen, you could’ve installed a conduit/box for the wires going underneath the worktop.

Or…made an entire fake wall with some dry wall, then recessed the TV into it.
You could’ve probably done that with a single sheet, then left a trendy “shadow gap” around the edges and backlit it with a colour changing bulb.

Wires get put in a pipe and you just tie them onto a string :+1:t3:

Nice and clean, do we need an update on the pain cave thread?

My garage is still a shithole, but that’s like a comfort blanket :joy:, and at least it’s not a Cold War khazi

Or…I’m guessing that’s just a stud dry wall?

You could buy a recessed wall mount box, drop the wires behind the wall, then back out behind the TV?

The recessed wall box would be hidden by the WiFi extender.

It’s a thought, if the OCD ever gets bad enough :+1:

Then have your dog tear it all down. :grinning:

Or attach the WiFi extender to the dog and just have roaming wifi.

Brilliant.

Especially if its a Spinone, then it’ll be Roman wifi

So, apart from medicine, irrigation, health, roads, cheese and education, baths and the Circus Maximus, the Romans brought WiFi?

Anyone have problems updating Zwift on Apple TV?

I may be doing it wrong but twice now have come to “update required”, but when I click “update now” get sent to a screen that says:

Apple Media terms and conditions have changed. Accept/ cancel.

Clicking accept just leads to a screen that says “coming soon” and you have to exit by clicking back button

So far the only way I have found to update the app is to delete and then reinstall, which is a bit of a ballsache because it takes several minutes and I miss whatever race, as just happened now

I feel like I can’t be the only person in the world to have this problem but there’s not much out there about it??

Yeah when I changed my old HP laptop to SSD it became a dedicated Zwift machine. All the connectivity I need using an ANT dongle on a cable. Shame about the 14 year old Tacx Satori though 🤷😅

Does the smart trainer need to be on the network, or does it just talk to the PC for gaming (FE-C) purposes?

I had this once, where the update for ATV was a couple of days behind but it didn’t stop me logging in and using Zwift.

Trainer talks to PC via BT / Ant + like PM does. You can pair as PM / controllable or both. Current bug means to connect as controlled it needs to be connected as PM first but once connected can swap PM back to pedals if you choose

The controllable connection is really annoying me. Been like it for a quite a while now too

It still doesn’t always connect with the workaround. Surely it’s a simple fix

I have been having an issue where when I stop pedalling, the saris continues to read 10-14W for quite a long time while the flywheel is spinning down.

I figured this was probably preventing supertuck, and so it appears: Zwift says to supertuck, three conditions must be met:

  1. You must be travelling at least ~36MPH (~58km/hr)
  2. The decline must be at least 3%
  3. Your power output must be below 11 watts

As a result, in a couple of races recently I have been going hell for leather downhill trying to keep up with people Chris Frooming it at 0W and having a rest.

Anyway, downloaded the Saris app, performed first ever calibration & also updated firmware. The firmware release notes say “fix issue low power target watts”. Kind of hoping this will fix the issue, looks good so far- when stop pedalling power quickly goes down to 0W :crossed_fingers:

Slightly concerned that calibration might have knocked 20W+ off though :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers: swings and roundabouts
