New guy attempting 120 later this year .
So 120 Ironman’s with a short bike?
That 176km bike and 41.6km run comes in handy
Don’t be salty because you haven’t done it
He should do the Hamburg course
I was thinking how TF does @Poet know anything about the Roth course (111 miles bike BTW, from my Strava )
I wouldn’t want to do it.
Looks like pandemonium.
Far too many portly middle aged white men for my liking.
I was also thinking how the hell does anyone know about World War 2? Or the dark ages?
There’s something called THE INTERNET
Like how neither of you mention the run length …
Omerta indeed.
The first rule of Roth is, you don’t talk about Roth.
The second rule …
You just described Triathlon.
Pot. Kettle
Does that mean portly middle aged black men are more your thing🤷🏻♂️
No judgement here boss, safe space and all that
Here’s me worried about getting around 10!
Good luck to the guy. Does he have a group to go out with or on his own?
I wonder what Sean Conway is thinking ?
Jonas is already putting the call out for people to cycle/run with him & Sean is very encouraging, they’re having a phone chat on Monday.
I think the relationship will differ greatly from the one that Sean had with that American fella.
Weather could hardly be worse for April today
Tomorrow is the 105 anniversary & as a fundraiser for the True Venture Foundation there are 10 people paying for the experience of doing the course with Sean. I’m not sure how the whittling process worked - 60 applied - but I get the impression that abilities will be mixed.
I’ll be running around being a general dogsbody helping with logistics as well as pacing one of the 2 groups of cyclists.
It’ll be a long day & I’m not really sure what to expect.
Did him and ‘Iron Cowboy’ not get on? Based purely on social media Sean comes across as a pretty nice, chilled chap
If you scroll up through the thread you’ll find some discussion on this.
Any animosity was all one way.
Yeah, I’m not going to dish dirt on someone I’ve not yet met on a public forum but I’ve had 30+ long cycles with Sean & despite the fatigue/stress he must have felt I’ve never seen a nasty edge to him.
Not sure if there’s a better thread for just random insane challenges, or whether to make one, but Mitchell Hutchcraft is one of the latest.
