Sport Science...a Tin Pot of recommendations to ignore

TdF - the least regulated sport in history…i don’t think i’ve ever heard of a penalty for extra “assistance”…

Average speed at the Giro final TT was 24kph

Tomorrow’s has 650m elevation in 22km

Thought i should stick it here. One of the counterclaims going around about the boxing (fe)males is that others like Phelps have gentic advantages. Did you know Phelps only produces half the amount of lactic acid as other swimmers :rofl: this is coming from some people that should know better, not just lay people…

Anyway, this is an interesting thread in response

On D+ commentary AB lamented a GB team member (can’t remember which one) suffering with “lactate” at the end of their stage

I’m reading his book at the moment.

Won’t let me see the thread as I’m not on twitter.

The worst boxing shitshow in modern times a direct quote from my favourite pundits about the Olympics.

All the big am fans I know are pretty certain that Olympic boxing is finished and won’t happen in 2028.

Reduced weight classes
No white tip gloves
Some horrendous decisions
No “ Olympic “ scoring which worked well for the amateur scene
9-10 scoring system like the pros from life long amateur judges
The bother with the two girls with xy genetics.
One of them has recieved death threats in her home country which are being taken seriously

The IOC have royally ducked this up.

I guess his coaching package is worth every penny

Interesting, thanks.

The argument that Phelps was/is a genetic freak so we should let DSD and trans into women’s sport is spurious anyway. Phelps raced in the male (open) category, where any physiology is allowed to compete.

and another, I heard this comment myself

Is it not called Lactate? Also, you really need to ‘warm down’ soon after an event to effectively clear-out lactate. The next day the ‘damage’ is done.

Anyway, that Stephen bloke’s Bio looks like the work of a 14yo. I’m probably missing quite a bit here Hammy as I’m only dipping into this.

I thought the INXS bloke was dead…
