You could make another column -Year & take that from the Date & then just filter on each Year?

My clumsy way, I’m sure there are better.
Is your fiscal year the calendar year or another month?
If it’s the calendar year you can use the “Year” function to take the year integer from the date and then a pivot table can split it up
If it’s a different month you can still to use the “Year” function but you’ll need to also use the “Month” function to add 1 on if it’s greater than 4 for example if it’s April.
I subbed it to a junior in the end. He’s smart and took him less time that it would have taken me. Still needs refining but it mostly works.

Get the people to do their own calculation and submit it to you. Then fine them if they get the calculation wrong and promise to make up any short fall some time over the next few years.
