Pretty sure mine did? When I migrated to TP at the point of getting coached, I was able to do a bulk import to give my coach a view on training history.
Currently, you have the option to sync only new workouts upload after the Autosync is set up or your entire Garmin Connect history.
Now I think about it, I remember making a massive cock-up. I selected import the full history, then got impatient, and disconnected and reconnected it again. I then ended up with double my entire history in TP I had to go through and manually delete all the duplicates. Don’t be an impatient idiot like me!
Just tried to create a route in Garmin Connect. Now there’s an advert for signing up to Strava. Half the price of ridewithgps. Any benefits to RWG over Strava, and any other alternatives out there?
Map my ride works well as a free option but you pretty much have to be able to create the route you want as it doesn’t have popularity. Seems like it takes you the shortest/natural driving route along main A roads if you select long segments.
Only thing I can think that changed is that I linked it with TP. I get an immediate notification from garmin and tp to say they’ve synced. Would there be some precedence/queue type function that’s killed the strava upload, despite it appearing to be linked?
I also had the same with an indoor ride last night. The trainerroad file upload to strava worked, but the dual recorded Garmin file didn’t (I normally have to manually delete the duplicate from strava)
I’m going the other way. There’s little in the old subscription features that interested me. But I need to judge how much I miss the loss of the features I used to get for free. In all likelihood, a reduced frequency in outdoor riding/racing is likely to diminish the perceived loss. But I’ll see how things are when those kind of things begin to return (whenever that is). If I find myself going to check statistics I used to unknowingly use a lot, then their stick approach may well work
Did a ride this morning and decided to give it a bit of an effort on a couple of climbs which seemed to go pretty well.
Uploaded to Garmin/Strava and no PRs (or Silver/Bronze medals) so had a look at the individual segments which are showing PRs for today.
I knew I wouldn’t be able to see league tables but it seems it doesn’t even tell you your own PRs anymore.
I did a run last night, admittedly it was very slow as I was keeping the HR below 135. But Strava has tagged it as ‘Activity’, previously it’s always been ‘Evening Run’ etc.,
Not sure if this a specific change for the free version or some glitch etc., or it just couldn’t decide if I was walking or running!
