How many times can you bench 30kg GB?

GB is surely more than 30kg. Or are we benching a miniGB?

Half body weight

He’s 70 ish kg.

35 ish

One way is max reps go …no racking … complete failure …the other is time ie most reps in 2 mins or so.

Done both nasty, but nice !

F*ck knows! :joy:
I can get up two flights of stairs with one of my girls on my back and the other on the front. Does that count?! :joy: :joy:

Yeah I’m about 73kgs at the mo.

Not as bad a I thought, managed 10 reps at 100kg but that felt heavy enough so didn’t try 110 or 120. (Pb is 6@120)
Could probably have done a few at 110 but think 120 would be beyond me at the moment.

Body weight 70.3kgs

Current 5 reps on lifting program are at;

Bench Press 5x 80kg
Barbell Row 5 x 65kg
Deadlift 5x 102.5kg
Overhead Press 5x 40kg
Pull-up 5x BW + 7.5kg pause top&btm
Chin-up 5x BW + 7.5kg pause top&btm

That’s some good numbers at your bodyweight.
I’m a bit stronger on most things but I’m over 100kg so nowhere near as a percentage.
I don’t even want to think about Pull-ups/Chin-ups, when I can do 100kg on the lat pulldown then I might have a go.

Yeah some good numbers there!

I was pleased to get 3 x 4 100kg deadlifts this morning and they felt reasonably comfortable. Currently weighing 74kg.

I’d be interested to give the half body weight bench a go. What reps where you getting @Mungo2 ?

I’m a shade over 70 at the min

@35 kg bench I’d go over 30 I think ?!

I’ll try next pt session, he loves shit like that.

Squat 35 kg I’d expect quite a big number now due to all that leg stuff ready for Jan.
my lower back which plagued me for years is in good shape now, it doesn’t like dead lifts, so I’ll give them a miss.

I started with dead hangs, negatives and then singles. I don’t think id get close though with an additional 30kg plate hanging though :grimacing:

You’re over 100kg on the bench press?? this is my long term goal, being able to move 2 big plates either side would be pretty cool. Got to 97.5 in my early twenties but was never able to overcome that last little bit.

No, I weigh over 100kg
I started back at the gym in April and my best is 90kg for 4 reps at the moment, although I’ve dropped back a bit after being ill for a couple of weeks.
My goal is to bench my bodyweight by the end of the year so 100kg would involve me losing a few kg too.

Heaviest I ever benched was 110kg, way back when at uni. It was only going up once. I would have weighed around 67kg back then. I was in the gym 6 days a week lifting, hard circuits x3/week, a run or bike and uni 5-a-side once a week.

I would love that much free time now.

My son tells me he shrugged 230kg.

I’m scared to verify it.

5 for 90kg would indicate a 1rm of 100kg so you’re almost there.

I’ve always had a big chest, even now !
My best bench in a comp is 120 when I weighed 13.5? St. That old bastard leaning over me took an eternity to clap his hands !

I never tried when I was nearly 15 but I did do 58 reps with 50 kg.

Even when I was big I was more into numbers than one off lifts.
