Good luck keep us updated
No it’s Flight of the Conchords, one of their songs when they go to a party - ‘the most beautiful girl in the room’
It’s on my list. Won’t be there next year but 2021 is a possibility.
Which is the rest of the lyrics I quoted

Missed that. Oops! That’ll teach me to type when I’m supposed to be looking after my little children!!
I am now thinking about this one as well.
Next season may end up being Lanzarote, Roth and Copenhagen… 3 IMs in a year (4 if I go to Kona) may be asking a lot, physically and financially
I hope your family really like you, cos you’re gonna be deep in the red in the family ledger!! haha
I’ve already had the conversation from the gf about it being unreasonable to do so many events during the year (this year was quite light!). How Matt swings doing an event almost every week, I have no idea. I’d like the secret!
Is Lanza the KQ aim? That should suit you with the difficulty of the bike.
Copenhagen will be super difficult. The times there are just insane. The final Q in your AG was 9:13 this year (and 9:12 last year) ![]()
Lanza is the KQ aim. Roth is my sub 10 aim, was thinking about Copenhagen as backup.
Going to be a big focus on swimming this autumn, don’t expect much more on the bike, possibly some marginal gains, a few minutes on the run and a big chunk of time off the swim.
Matt that’s a pretty big list but hey I think it is possible.
I did Lanza this year and was in for Wales but have written that off as Lanza was enough for me and I have been doing lots of stuff to get the brownie points up as I aim to give Roth a wriggle next year.
Copenhagen has a great feeling and I would really like to go there but next summer is all about the Italian lakes with Mrs Hen …I could swing Lanza Roth hmmmm
Personally I’d probably stick with Lanza and Roth and stay fresher for Kona so can do yourself justice there. But you’ve shown this year you seem capable of physically doing multi events so wouldn’t surprise me if you pull them all off.
That said, what’s main priority Kona or sub 10? Copenhagen gives another chance at KQ but doesn’t sound like your best shot, not compared to bike courses like Lanza/UK
Copenhagen doesn’t sell out super early either. It sells out, but you probably have enough leeway to do Lanza and then make a call. Looking back on their fb page, they were advertising 150 slots left at the end of May this year.
Hmmm, now you’ve got me thinking about Lanza too
Anyone going sub 10 at Lanza is a demon in my experience, it’s a great race
My main priority is KQ, Lanza just seems scary. On paper it should suit me, I climb well, I am small, so aero benefit in wind. I do wonder if it attracts others like me, making it a tough event to KQ
Yes Lanza will attract others like you, but other races will attract people to their strengths too. Eg Copenhagen requiring around 9:00 to be confident of having a good chance of KQ for you suiting the swim runners.
It seems qualifying is tough but if you are good enough at Lanza you will be good enough anywhere.
Our man is famous!
