TCS London Marathon 2025

I think that’s what I’ll aim for. Should be pretty easy to work to given pace should be exactly 5min/km (OK 4:59min/km), and I gather London has both mile and KM markers, so every 6K/30mins from 12K/1 hour.

As well as the fine gentlemen on here running it I am also keeping an eye out for the legend that is James Cracknell. He did 2:43 couple of years back. Recently did a 1:24 half with a hangover so wondering what he has got this time.

Has anyone had to prove your Id?

Just realise I don’t have my drivers licence with me. It doesn’t mention it in the event guide though

I did

Yeah one every 30 mins. I’m taking 6 with me, just in case :confounded: 3 stuffed down each wrist band. There are 2 gel stations on the course, although there’s some sports drink at a few other stations. Using SIS - just what I’ve been training with/ available.

Depending on how I feel/recover/don’t keel over before the finish - is anyone scheduled for Manchester next weekend as well?

Gonna be furious if they turn me away

Do you not just need the QI code thing on phone? Download the app

I had that at Brighton actually, bit of a surprise. And I don’t carry ID or cards. She asked me to show her my Facebook page! :joy:

That’s all I can see.

Come to think of it at any triathlon you always have to show id - that might be for insurance / race licence purposes though

I’d really like to avoid having to go in today, tomorrow and Sunday

But you live in London, what’s the problem.

I think we’re all in agreement that big city marathons are just a total fucking faff.

Strathearn - park on a field. Pitch a tent. Wake up next day and walk 20 metres to registration. Start line’s 5 meters further

You’ve obviously never tried commuting from East Molesey to the Excel Center - that’s got to be a 3 hour round trip on a good day

And what, 3 miles each way!?

Probably more like 20 miles each way.

Adam doesn’t really live in London. He’s barely inside the M25

Is there someone at home who can photo your driving licence?

London’s more a country than a city. Glasgow’s a hamlet by comparison
