I saw a guy dressed as a submarine!
I don’t know what’s worse… Ski boots or high heels?
Why do people hate their feet so much?!
There was someone with a green wheeliebin on his back as well accepting cash! That must have got heavy.
I saw an interview on BBC of a father and son who were hoping to break the combined time record, 4:59 I think.
The old boy was hoping to go sub 2:30 for the over 60 record too.
Yep.
And the 6 guys as Colin the Caterpillar
You “don’t know”…surely you mean you “wouldn’t know”.
Not that I’m judging.
I saw a guy with an official sign on his back that looked like a bee keeper or on a safari.
Unlucky today. I actually think just after blue and green merged we might have been close as I heard a shout for ninja.
Fingers crossed the HM record is allowed!
Saw the flamenco dancer.
My feet are bad enough with Vaporflys on. She must be in bits
I couldn’t believe it when I saw her. I’m grimacing at the mere thought of it. Did you see the guy carrying the bike?
I was running briefly with a guy holding a golf club. He had Nikes on though. Clearly a soft WR
Not the time though. Believe he had to run under 3
Think I saw a tree too
The last few posts, is that people hallucinating?
Not quite I’m 190 cm and currently at about 80 kg (sound almost trivial but really wish I was the 77 or so kg I was last year but alas it’s what you put in:) )
Pretty pleased with my time and just relieved really to PB as the last few races I’ve had have felt like the fitness has been going down the toilet a bit with each subsequent race less impressive than the last. Went through 10 mile in 58 and then it became an exercise in holding on to that buffer with lots of 6 min miles. Previous PB of 2:37:02 (NAD 6:00 miles) but this was one of the hardest marathons I’ve run. Had a cold in the last week then some flute pain popping up at 9 mile was frustrating but really glad to have held it together. The wind was breezy in places but certainly not as bad as could have been given the forecast. Apart from that great conditions (and glad missed that downpour!)
Next up for me is need to decide do I want to have a go at the Cheshire elite marathon next April or is it time for a break from marathon training and chase a 15 something 5k or even a sub 4:30 mile as marathon training can get relentless!
Great work today folks!
Was good to bump into @toby_Hole_in_the_leg
apparently there was also an attempt on the 4-legged race, wonderful time to aim for of 4.44
And you. Insane effort running in a ninja costume. Sorry things didn’t go to plan today. Still a great run. Some of the other costumes were crazy - I saw the girl in the flamenco outfit - her knees must be in bits
I saw the bike guy and the ladies tied together too
… did you not run in running shoes? Bloody hell!
