Here’s an interesting conundrum… if Bernal continues to be unable to step up to the plate, will Ineos start to support Yates, so that they have reigning TdF winner in their squad next year, and all the additional PR that creates?

Intrigued to know on what basis you say this? So far, there’s not been any real major mountain day during which Bernal thrived last year. And today, he and the rest of Ineos were the key driving force behind the annihilation of the peloton and the gapping of some of the key GC players?

Pogacar looks properly strong. Shame he lost the time yesterday. I honestly couldn’t see anyone sticking with him today had he still been on the same time as the rest

Such a pity Alaphilippe is off the pace now. He is very entertaining and a great bike rider.
