The Fan Dance

Good luck. I’ve emailed Ken and told him you’ll be picking up my refund cash. :boom:

It is the descents that do the damage…

enjoy…

Yes, I notice after my hill repeats on the road my Glutes suffer the next day! But the legs are/have adapted. I’m most concerned about tripping on a rock and going flying

At least that means that you are using your glutes…

and we have all taken a tumble…

When i was doing it back in the day, I quit on the way back up the Fan, sat down and ate a Mars bar…I had lost the lead group on the way back up the Roman road…a couple of stragglers came by, but no DS, so i got up, went over the top, cut the corner on the way back and came in with the lead group…

You just went across the top of Corn Du, or across the babies-heads lower down?

Babies heads…

100% agree with that

The final descent from Pen y Fan back to the Storey Arms almost finished me off back in Jan 20 and that was “clean fatigue”. Quads were not right for about 2 weeks after.

Was actually in the lead as well, but a guy with better legs flew past and took 5 minutes out of me on the descent. He was flying, I was mincing like it was still Christmas Eve.

No idea how you guys do it carrying a medium sized child in a bag, or whatever it is you have in there.

Good luck @Jorgan , hope it’s dry and not too warm

I’m hoping to be as metronomic as possible; no smashing any particular part of the course.

You know what they say about plans.

It is far from the hardest tab…

I hope it’s either scorchio or knee deep in snow so that you get the full effect

Yes, I would prefer an extreme; but it’s unlikely looking at the forecast.

Ken isn’t happy, again!

I appreciate it might not be easy  , but can you summarise his rant?

Ken is ranting for people’s apparent inability to read. We were offered a chance to do the summer fan dance but had to confirm with a refundable £20. (despite them having our original money for 18mths).

If you did nothing with the mail, you lost your spot (I did nothing) but because of Ken’s convoluted options some folks are apparently thinking they’ve got a spot.

If you didn’t confirm and still turn up, Ken is going to shoot you.

I never entered… I’m curious to see what would happen if I turn up and say “I hear you’re doing an event?”

I’ve challenged Jorgan to ask for my refund

Nothing from stopping you from banditing it; it’s a public mountain! I’m sure there will be dozens of non participants on the hill that day. Weather forecast fairly blah, so not mobbed I shouldn’t think.

Last time I did it (Bladerunner you understand) it was, as expected blowing a gale & grey on top.
There were still people on the way up as I was finishing in trainers / flip flops or just taking the dog for a walk.

I mean I can understand if you set out early with a plan, but who has a leisurely breakfast/brunch/lunch, looks at the forecast and says "yup, looks like a nice day for a stroll from the Storey Arms.

I will pay you 50 quid to do that.

He is comedy gold. He lost his shit when they did a virtual event and very one fucked up the spreadsheet.

Criticises everyone else’s admin, but his is appaling.

I assume his latest edict was just on FB?
