Yes, you can just keep whatever you like; you just have to sign for it. I’m still trying to work out what to do with all these grenades that are past their best before date. Do you need any?

I think we’ve all seen enough films to know that in that dusty shed, you have a box buried for such occasions, maybe for when one of your buddies that saved you ‘over there’ has a domestic problem?

Found them. I may well be glad of these if there is a blizzard. Beauty is they fold at the bridge and sunglass size 
Also now deliberating going straight for the Goretex softshell trousers I have; bit bulky but Gucci AF.

Is an out of date grenade more likely to go off when you don’t want it to or less likely to go off when you do want it to, compared to one it it’s prime?

Yes, pretty bad. Not quite as cold as advertised, but gale force winds up top. I’m surprised I stayed upright tbh, the Bergen was like a sail. I got away with just a Vapour Rise smock, nothing underneath, hat & gloves when higher up.
They actually cancelled the night race it was so bad; first ever canx apparently.
I ended up being first overall. Did the usual thing of smashing the first ascent, then seeing how long it took anyone to catch me down to the turn. A guy caught me about 1.5k from the turn, but when we got off the boulders I reeled him back in. There were two of them breathing down my neck just after the turn, but as soon as we hit the gradient I never saw them again, and they ended up miles behind. Definitely a climbers event with the weight.
