My test results were in the app this morning, I’ll probably get a text from the GP’s next week after they’ve been reviewed. Anyway, PSA was 0.75 which is good news, this sounded more like the range of people in the 40’s rather than being closer to 60!

My ferritin still isn’t great despite taking the tablets most of the time for about 8 months, it has reached 49 and is classed as satisfactory! Might need to increase my meat intake!

Anyway, I know the test isn’t perfect and I wasn’t symptomatic but still good to hear.

Totally hacked off with work as has been mainly enforced WFH for the last 9 months. Took the redundancy/early retirement option that suddenly came up a couple of weeks ago and finished last Thursday. Don’t get the payoff till end of month though. Spent Fri afternoon burning through leftover healthcare cash allowances (teeth, scans/physio checks, opticians, gym membership). Feeling good - 3 gym + swim sessions so far, couple of bike rides, changed Lambda sensor on 2 cars. Visited a few new dirt bikes. Wife has been told to consider me as otherwise engaged 7.30am-6pm every day as if I was still going to work. Might take housework/home maintenance requests outside those times as per normal. Daughter finishes A-levels June so planning a bit of a family European wakeboarding grand tour in the summer followed by a few weeks in Mongolia and try to realise enough asset sales out there to make retirement permanent. Otherwise nothing lost and will consider another job later in the year. Empty nest time anyway this year, so a change is coming. Not something that worries me, but I can tell wife is going to struggle as she is a bit of a control freak and daughter knows that a bit of separation is what works best for her.

My mate who I told you about with prostate cancer over Easter is 2 yrs older than me (so 63) and he’s very cycle fit and lean build.
He said his PSA was 4.9 and the threshold for him was 4.5.

I’ve been called in this Friday to talk to the Dr about a test for myself as well. eek!

As I said previously, I appreciate both sides of the story from cleverer people than me on here. It was mostly down to my father and I didn’t have any of the symptoms.

Fingers crossed it’ll be alright for you :+1:

Wife is from there (her dad was a diplomat with the former communist government). I agree that it seems bizarre that a place with almost unlimited vacant land has premium land prices, but like any big capital city, there are more desirable (and hence more valuable) parts, particularly those in areas already connected to utilities. We have just focused on acquiring a few derelict bits and pieces within the city, mainly in early 2000’s when they were a lot cheaper, plus a nice house and plot in a highly desirable pollution free area just outside the city, which is ripe to partition and sell some of the land off as it is more than we need.

Some of us oldies on here might relate to a lot of this video - I can remember most of the clips from the time. Nice version of The Boxer to go with it as well.

I joined the club last Friday so thought I’d pop in and see what it’s all about. Not much training talk is there?

Thanks.

Nope not yet.

Speaking of which, I did see an advert of theirs on TV the other day and they are trying to shake off that image and aim for a slightly different demographic.

No.

It takes three months to recovery from a single session, thats why.

One session a quarter is enough.
