The over 50's

Who was the TTer from Amazinstoke? I want to say her name was Phillipa but I don’t think it was. She may have been French?

Not sure what made me think of her :man_shrugging:

Plenty of jobs at GCHQ for translators if you can keep it quiet!

Had my “ capability “ hearing with the OH doctor.

Told me what I already knew, but quite hard to listen to someone else recount it all and put it on paper.

Been in a bit of a daze ever since, new day today…. Onward.

I joined Facebook at about the time I drifted away from TT v1. It might have been @AndyS who sent me a link to connect with his FB friends - I ended up with a few who were properly weird / annoying (to me). I remember asking Cleo (remember her?) who they were as I couldn’t link the real names with forum names.

It was over 10 years ago so I can’t remember much in the way of detail … was there someone with ‘Love’ in their name? Might have been a male nurse I think, they provided me with a perfect excuse to use the unfriend facility.

I’m in touch with quite a few people on FB who no longer post; I don’t think this list is complete either:

Cleo
Mountaingirl
Newarktricky
Kempton Slim
Daz
Caroline … Pompey might have been her user name???
Big Ted & Marie
Pip
Carl … can’t remember his user name
Officer Dyble (was that his username or just a nickname)?
LynnE
Carlito
Dre
MilkyWaye
Blue Pool Shark
T Rex of Tri
Young Gun
Slacker (I think … Bob IRL)

That was either “CarlJ” or another madasafish or something was an ultra nutter (or me ) . I met CarlJ on a Herts TT meetup where he showed up on a fixie and bent cranks all day  They were good days out, swim, bike then a run in a new place! Organised by Vince (Cenzo) met Nadya , Rob Q and his Mrs Nic, Malc (lapsed ringer i think his username was) and his other half . Mr and Mrs Mash (who always bought baked goodies ) , Tony p also showed up once.

Met losds of TTers about, Forestman, 7oaks tri, Austria 70.3, midnightman, even swims at Heron Lake. Was always a big crowd. My overiding memory is still a girl called “Dallas” who i met setting up bikes for midnightman whilst she was tucking into a bacon sarnie putting on her wetsuit  or veggieboy sitting in T1 eating cheese and onion pasty

It was CarlJ - he’s still pushing hard.

Lapsedringer was one that missed my list of lapsedTTers

I deleted my FB account during Covid because the local groups all got a bit mad with conspiracy stuff or photos of people out and about so I lost all my FB friends.

T-Rex moved to NZ, as did Duncan74. I occasionally see them pop up on Strava but I’ve not seen/spoken to them since 2009 IMNZ. Duncan went off social media and deleted all his accounts other than Strava. Sue who lived in Reigate (I forgot her TT name, possibly Sue) moved to north Wales with Alan (FastSlowTwitch) but he tragically died in an accident. Bruiser moved back to Wales as well and had a daughter recently (like 10 years ago recently which feels recent to me). Lost track of Connor66, I think he must have unfriended me following a ‘discussion’ about immigration. Wiganer got into cycling and seemed to be in a good place.

Can’t remember any more right now, maybe I’ll recall stuff later.

I remember endorphin junkie, ttowel of course, dss123, and some guy who really kindly dropped off some old Kona DVDs at my house, we had just been discussing old races on forum & un-asked they said they were passing by Dorset & could drop them off. Sadly I wasn’t in so never got a chance to say thanks, can’t remember their username now.

There was also a guy called Snafu, bizarrely it turned out he was one of the other Dads in the Abbey choir that our kids sang in. We had known each other for about 2 years before realising the TT connection. the first rule of fight club etc…

I think there was someone called Mr Bounce or their avatar was Mr Bounce that moved to Oz ( they may have been called Mel?)

There was a Pirate that moved to Oz that turned up on Transitions. I really miss Transitions :disappointed:

might have been Kanga - who is an Aussie and moved back there after many years in London
