I think it’s a shark. a plastic (or similar) model one that sits on the bottom of the lake that scares the shit out of those who come across it for the 1st time!

I see Kev H regularly, he lives in Wrotham a mile up the road. He’s got two daughters now and his own tree surgery business that keeps him busy. However, he is getting back into shape as I see on Instagram. I will tell him you were asking about him.
Daz I am also still in contact with, he is in Shropshire and doing the coast to coast in a week or so. Obviously as Wolves fans, we chat regularly.

Daz and I have met up several times, most recently for day walks in Shropshire. I remember doing a lap of Richmond Park in headtorches once when I was working in London … maybe 15 years ago
I was running in the Lakes when he came through on the second of his LEJOGs so we had a meal together. I remember picking up his bike and thinking it wasn’t too heavy … then I realised the back wheel was still on the ground, in fact it was stupidly heavy

I went for a training ride with a 2 or 3 others years ago when I lived in Godalming. We went up round Winterfold and Leith Hill. I can’t remember who went but I do remember one poster on here commenting that
’ that FatPom can descending a bit!’
He was less complimentary about my climbing prowess.

#boastpost, on one of the Herts rides I did a 3 up with Rob Q and Cenzo, we just went for it on a nice flat stretch for 15minutes or so, one of those moments on a bike when all 3 of us had perfect symmetry and it just flowed. I wondered why they kept dropping in behind me thinking I must be stronger than I thought then Rob nicknamed me “Big Maggie” at the cafe after as I was the perfect draft lol I later found out Magnus was an ex hockey player also so that stuck (and no I wasn’t even as strong as Zoe who was probably only 5 at that time )

I knew we had met at Forestman, but couldn’t place where, as I knew I was faffing about in transition and in a bit of a mood, but thanks for reminding me. You’ve got a much better memory than me. Was there a TTer, other than TTowel, who podiumed at Forsetman or was at least at the pointy end? Can’t remember his username.
It’s been fun looking back and being reminded about the many characters on TT 1.0, the vast majority of whom werereally knowledgable, good fun and great to interact with. I can also confirm that @Poet is real as he was the first TTer I ever met, I think at the Beaulieu HIM in 2007? Had the pleasure of meeting a fair few people on one of the Surrey bike ride meet ups, although it ended up with Phil Wilson having a nasty accident.
Anyway, it makes me realise how much I have got out of this site over the years and I’m very grateful that TT2.0 exists.

That may have been Dan McCormack, cant remember his username as I know him personally now through tri and now his kids. I believe he went sub 4 for the marathon (the only one that day)

Same, quickly followed by @adam who was pretty much stood next to him. I did see @Toyota_Crown when I was milling around at the start of the Lincoln 10km but he was in conversation and I didn’t want to disturb him. I have seen him out cycling near Lincoln, and he came running past me at the Outlaw.
I was a long time lurker on TT1.0 mostly. My first visits there were around the time of the ‘swim wars’ when a Total Immersion guy got quite unpleasant.

I think we should have a weekend, off season workshop weekend. One day @Hammerer rips our swimming apart, the other @explorerJC does the same for our running. (or something)
