Still got a chance for sub 10 @Jorgan , Raymundo can go sub 9
…and playing Pooh sticks takes on a different meaning. Not sure how the NHS gets round the laws on sending noxious substances in the post.
Old man’s health MOT’s are a joke though - if you tell them you still exercise, and the volume/intensity, the default seems to be to tell you to slow down before you do yourself a mischief!
Happy Birthday @Jorgan . Its only a number …
a frikkin’ huge one
Happy birthday big man!!
My first exercise session of the new decade; still alive, and no serious aches/pains. It was somewhat like being 49…
No need to make a SAGA out of it.
There’s an over 50s cafe down in town; not been yet. Not sure I can face it yet; I’m fine as long as I pretend nothing has changed
A what? I’ve never heard of such a thing!
Another go at a sub 10? I know a few people still doing it in M55 (obvs not me
)
When is your sub 9 attempt?
Happy to do a sub 9 70.3 atm
Pull up that sandbag lad !
After being told that my pension was going to be taxed at 50% “ for three months”
I got my first monthly statement today the lump sum landed too, that’s tax free obviously.
The monthly statement I paid 0% tax?!?
I’m obviously not complaining but dear me, what a duck up, let’s see what next month brings.
I don’t know where 50% tax is coming from?
£50k to £100k would be 40%
£100k to £125k would be 60%
£125k would be 45%
0% is definitely wrong. They’ve probably started you in an emergency tax code, so either you’ll pay a load of tax to correct this next month or you’ll have to pay the extra tax through your tax return at the end of the month.
The accountant will make sure you pay the “right” amount of tax. You’re not self employed or in the Jimmy Carr earnings bracket, so he’s not going to be able to use any trickery to make the tax go away
“ at the higher rate “
Is this 40%?
I assumed it was 50?!
Cheers
Yeah, he’s probably referring to the 40% rate
Not sure if it’s an age thing or lack of fitness but last night’s race hurt, although I don’t take my Garmin as gospel my training readiness was 83 yesterday, this morning it was down to 13
I definitely felt it this morning as well and my sleep wasn’t too bad, but definitely felt like I was still a bit hyper from the race.
It was a longer effort than I’ve done for a while and an hour of over/unders in reality. My power curve from 30 minutes was a lot higher than the last 6 weeks.
In the plus side I still hung on and was very close to 4w/kg for what was a few seconds under an hour
