Your an old b’stard now.
I don’t know how kids view 50 year olds now; my daughter says we don’t seem that old. But I seem to remember in the 70/80s a 50yo seemed and looked like a 65yo these days?
Anyone see that pic of Joe Biden when he was 29? Loads of comments saying he looked 49.
That is my perception as well, I wonder if they thought the same about previous generations and we are kidding ourselves.
I don’t watch it any more but some years ago, The Apprentice had a few tasks around designing holidays or whatever for the older generation.
They always assumed that anyone over 50 was completely past it and sought nothing more adventurous than a comfy chair in front of the tv and a colostomy bag.
Just out of curiosity, where would one book one of these holidays; asking for a friend
When I was watching the original Star Wars trilogy recently I looked at the extras and thought they looked really old, not sure how old they were though
I think the hairstyles are greyness didn’t help.
I mean, some of those Jedis were like 700 weren’t they? Yoda and so on
There were others?
I think not having kids has helped me not notice age creeping up until recently. The youngsters in the shared houses in our development are probably the same age as we were when we bought our house. (Funny that we could afford to buy our house on my salary back then and they’re probably paying more than we ever paid on our mortgage to rent a room in a house like ours ).
When we see them moving in with the help of their parents, we’re probably the same age as their parents.
We’re the old folks in the house on the end
40 years ago
Worse than that it was actually Xmas ‘83 so they were a year younger. I always though Kenny Rogers was in his 60’s
Noel Edmonds hasn’t changed bit
Has Dolly Just finished a Fun Run?
I’ve got a massive box of Scalextric in the loft, race cars, road cars, police car and Moto GP bikes. I keep meaning to get it out and set it up for a bit, but then I remember the aggro of getting all the joints smooth so the cars don’t just stop like they’ve hit a brick wall; the bikes were extra sensitive to this too.
Tommy Lee Jones was 51 when he played K in Men in Black.
The grumpy old man
I’m coming to the realisation that this is the sort of condescending, twee, wanky shite that someone who is injury free & running well might say.
Really this is just nature
The decline between 50-60 is probably the biggest in any ten year age group
After 60 you just don’t get that many competing anymore.
Living in the moment is probably good advice.
In last night’s race I came 18/30 in the 50-59 AG. I’m 59 so in my head, they were all 51-52
