I read about magnesium a few years ago and how the body stores it, most tests only look at the blood and due to the way the body prioritises it into the blood if a test shows you’re deficient you should have a lot of symptoms.
Given modern diets it’s something a lot of people probably don’t get enough of.
Epic sleep for me yesterday. Big training week combined with looking after the whole family who were ill caught up with me. After taking another child to a birthday party on Sunday morning (had another birthday party Saturday afternoon), and then taking all the Christmas decorations down I went for a nap at about 3pm. Woke up 2 hours later and went downstairs briefly before my wife told me to go back to bed. So I did, and then got up at 5am. 14 hours! OK, not all asleep as I did read a bit but generally, a massive rest.
My overnight HRV jumped to 111 where it normally is rare to be above 70. I wouldn’t say I woke up with a spring in my step but definitely needed it.
Two and a half weeks no booze. Sleeping ok, seem to wake at 1am go back to sleep easily, then wake around 6-6:30 and cant get back to sleep.
So a good solid 7 - 7.5 hours. I am so tired though. Finished work last night and the thought of cooking dinner filled me with dread. Almost ordered a takeaway.
If not, how do you track your sleep and heart rate etc?
@GRamsay - from what you said on the weight thread, those cheese & pickle sandwiches won’t be doing anything for energy levels. Try rainbow stuff. Veg, veg and more veg. Bit of protein. Loads of fibre. Vitamins B and D. Etc etc.
Yes, I wear my Garmin watch to bed, no other jewlery.
My sleep score has been over 80 since the start of the year, it has increased week on week, last week was 86, which is the second highest week since I got a watch that recorded it. Sleep consistency, sleep duration and HRV are all up.
Ditto. No gadgets allowed in bedroom except Kindles. That alone will improve sleep quality. I can’t abide wearing watches in bed with them pressing on your wrist and snagging on the pillow. The Oura ring is an alternative if anyone really wants a ‘score’ without a watch.
Ive been taking magnesium glycinate for about 3 weeks. Usually when i give up drinking I struggle to get to sleep but since taking that Im out like a light.
I think as well though now Im sleeping alone probably helps. No one else snoring, getting up, yanking the covers.
confession, Mrs does have some sort of tech to wake her up at 5 am on a school day, it buzzes. Also I’m pretty sure I have seen a hair dryer in there too. Plus air conditioning in the ceiling, and electric lights.
It’s practically a Virgin Megastore, thinking about it
Bleurgh, sleep score of 50 last night went to bed early but woke up with my stomach churning and felt a bit sick. Had some peptobismol which eased it but it says I had high stress
Not been feeling right for a couple of days but nothing specific.
