73 last night, 6hr23 with 1.47 of deep. Less than ideal overall but more deep, but feel pretty good
Woke up this morning completely refreshed & buzzing.
Unfortunately it was 03:30 & I now feel decidedly second hand

I got seven hours continuous last night but I think the late hard swim and travel home put me in a bad place for sleep.
The Arc of Tiredness
My sleep scores and HRV do suggest that I am still not over the bug that forced a week off training
Canned double run day and will just do the one with half an eye on the long run at the weekend
Sleep is better when I focus on it. A good routine and diet helps a lot, as does no alcohol.
I was focused in Jan and some of Feb, the graph clear represents the time of effort to get better sleep (the higher traces on the graph.)
Screen time seems to make no difference at all, but having a relaxed hour before bed has a positive effect even if its reading on a phone or electrical device.
Standing up and making lunch for the next day in the last hour has a negative impact for me.
Monday was a hard day so needed to recover well.
Worked out well. While eating breakfast, I got a recovered better than expected message. I don’t think that will be the case tomorrow, easy run, but a more stressful day.
Late March and I’ve been too warm in bed already! Only got a thin sheet, must be hormonal ![]()

Also, now I’ve started swimming again I always feel like I’ve got dry skin, not sure if it’s all the chemicals. Anyone else get this? Eyes are dry as well but I need newer goggles.
Mate, if your eyes are dry your goggles are working fine
.
My sleep hasn’t been great for a week or so, wake up too hot and probably got my race and holiday on my mind!
Neighbour making a noise doesn’t help either ![]()
I actually might have got some sleep on the flight from Vegas but not much and found a bench to lie on at Schipol ![]()
Possibly my lowest sleep score of 41 ![]()
Early night tonight!
I admire your optimism that you will arrive home with no issues in time for an early night.
I’ve landed.
But… apparently our burglar alarm is beeping and the bloody box is in the bedroom!
Looks like I’m sleeping in the garage or travelodge ![]()
er… have you checked under the bed ![]()
It looks like the alarm went off for some reason in the garage but the GF checked it and all seemed to be there, after it has gone off you need to enter the code again and I’ve cleared it for now so will see how it goes.
Bed very soon though!
Comparison is the thief of joy
I want to know who is strapping their Garmin to coma patients in order to avg 11hrs a night
![]()
Probably as much a rant but had a poor sleep and now there’s an alarm going off outside the office window that regularly goes off for 10-15 minutes until our security can be arse to switch it off!
Side of my face and upper jaw and cheek were painful so I think my sinuses are blocking again ![]()
My Garmin was keen to highlight it all as well with a poor sleep score, raised RHR and HRV was well down ![]()
Visited my mum and dad yesterday
My dad told me that he never dreams when asleep - he’s never mentioned this before
I just assumed everyone did
Weird?
Tell him to have some strong cheese before bed!
I actually didn’t realise that either, thought everyone did.
Yeah same. Reckon I can remember 1 or 2 dreams a year.
In other news the Orogin mattress I bought a few months ago is certainly helping my sleep.
Now when I wake up in the middle of the night it’s solely attributed to stress instead of a crap mattress!
