John Archibald I think, Duggleby was second?

I did the 25 today and it went better than expected but hard work. 64:13 on the Propel but with skinsuit, aero helmet etc., it was a bit breezy but more a crosswind really and maybe slightly behind us heading north which tends to be the uphill part of the course. It’s not the fastest course in the country with 200m ascent and slow tarmac.

AP was about 272W which was alright as it didn’t feel like I was completely hammering myself and had the parkrun in my legs.

Got back to HQ and the winner had knocked about 15 seconds off his own course record from last week with 48:15! Never heard of him before but a name to watch out for.

B Wiggins

Following in his fathers footsteps then.

Hadn’t realised he was a pro!

Not sure if anyone has looked at the new TT website yet? Looks a bit basic and I can’t see a filter for the regions, but the map view with events and distances overlaid is good improvement.

I like it but I’m in the minority ! Registration took longer than I thought but navigating was easy enough and I managed to enter my first TT of the season - 29 Mar - Coalville Wheelers 10

@jeffb CTT Open Events 2025 - Google Sheets
Excel version of the events schedule - you’ll be able to format the regions column

Yeah, I used to filter by region but I guess the maps feature makes that obsolete now. Also no longer an “other” distance, so they don’t show unless you select “middle” or “long”. I select a distance to filter out all the 10s, as I’ll do the local 10 if I want one of those.

Overall it’s probably an improvement. Proof will be when I actually enter an event.

It’s not going to win any design awards but I don’t mind it, I prefer simple, clean and easier to use than some horrible sites that get put together. The map and distance tags are useful, it seemed to update my registration quickly? I haven’t actually entered a race yet though.

Thanks for the list, I thought there’d be one somewhere. I’ve done the Tyneside Vags hilly 47 the last couple of years and enjoyed it but it’s a few days after I get back from a long holiday this year so might have to skip it.

Ultra distance appears to be 100 and above, and there’s very few.

Not checked it yet, can you filter by day of week? That would be a big improvement for me.

Fairly sure you can.

Yes, and time of day.

Game changer!

5 weeks out from the season , how’s it going ?

My season is experimental - I stopped swimming in 23 after IMW, and stopped running in October to purely concentrate on TTing for 18 months before going back to Duathlon.

Changes have been an introduction of S&C sessions (coached) , 5 sessions a week on the bike, a bike fit with Matt Bottrill (recommended) and before March will Chuck as much cash that is left at marginal gains (tubeless/waxed chains etc).

Fairly committed then, I’m guessing it was a fit rather than aero testing of some variety.

Any flexibility work as well as the S&C?

Any specific targets for the season other than do well?

It’s on my todo list to actually enter some races  but mostly training type races for now until I’m back from America.

Strangely enough I actually think I’m finding a bit more form after a few recent Zwift efforts and races with BL13, despite going out of the back fairly early :joy:

It was a fit rather than aero testing, cockpit changed, positionally more comfortable, cleats and inserts that sort of thing.

Club 10 record is the aim and if not that the 15. I held the club ten record in 2017 for just 10 minutes on the V718 before my team mate bettered it by 14 seconds. That still stands and it’s always bugged me a little that I didn’t push on when I had the form to get it back.

What’s the fast 10 course now? I know Levens is still used and quick but haven’t followed it enough in recent years.

Plan is to get a quick time on the A10/3 in April as LTS has slipped to over 22 mins due to inactivity, then take my chances on either same course later in the year, Levens, F11/10 and there’s a quick V course 10. The E2/10 is also being used - my best bet is a VTTA event - I just need to keep plugging away and get a good day

I suspect the V course is the one that starts at Dishforth and goes down the A19 and back. I think the first 1k is a smaller road but pretty quick with a slight downhill.

That’s the one. I did it on a tandem trike a couple of years back but would love a crack on 2 wheels.
