JB next to Schoeman which is brilliant. Should get out right at the front of the race.
Hopefully that works OK for Yee, with Mola and the Norweigans by him, which would be a good group to stick with a form pack on the bike.
But on what planet is no-one communicating to the chasing group who’s up ahead? Be it officials or support teams/soigners?!
Earth, apparently
Just amateur.
You could see the change in AVV’s body language after she’d been told. I notice the Dutch team were right next to Kiesenhofer at the finish and ignored her, unlike the other teams coming over to congratulate her.
Apparently ‘the phones didn’t work’. Or some such.
Very amateur.
Dr Hutch has been tweeting that the only time he has won races in when he’s gone so far in front so far out that the pack have forgotten about him. !
It’s too hot for tennis, too windy for rowing, surfing who knows depends what the weather does on the day. Do they not consider the weather when picking places to host it. Doesn’t seem particularly suited to sports
A bit like Qatar '22, eh?
I don’t think you could pick any decent city to host the summer games that ain’t going to have some sort of summer weather effect. it would be interesting to compare the weather for the Tokyo 1964 games to the current ones
So here’s a pic of Adam Peaty
Not sure skateboarding is really an Olympic sport but it was a great watch! Looking forward to the other discipline
We’ve been watching it too and really enjoyed it. I like seeing these different sports being given some global airtime. Looking forward to the climbing as well.
Have the Dutch cyclists stopped sulking yet, does anyone know?
Vos said she knew the Austrian was up the road
Absolute shambles from the Dutch ladies.
I’ve not heard any of the “pro” cyclists other than Vos say anything reasonable, even if they couldn’t count to 3 (or maybe 5 if they really hadn’t been back to the cars since the first 5km) they’ve all just been insuliting to the winner, they’re really bringing the whole sport into disrespect and need to start thinking hard about what they say.
Generally not, it’s more about who’s willing to foot the bill, and bung the IOC
To be fair, most rowing lakes have problem with the wind making the course unrowable or unfair from time to time. They definitely lost sessions at Rio and Athens and there were real concerns about Dorney before London.
One of my old rowing buddies spent London 2012 driving officials up and down the course while races were on so that they could assess which lanes were favoured and which were disadvantaged with different wind directions so that they could ensure that the higher seeded crews always had the faster lanes in the finals.
What has been said that is insulting? I’ve not seen any comments apart from Vos.
Great little back story here.
She’s a user and a forum member over on TrainerRoad…they’re starting to go crazy over there
